Donna, a resident of Belfast, . died surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She served many in her community through the Philanthropic Educational Organization - PEO, a hospital aide, and as a deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Belfast. Survivors include her husband, Peter Mark Tidd of Belfast; one daughter, Deborah Marie Marshall; one son Donald Mark; and one grandson.

She attended Houlton Business College. She retired from Houlton Regional Hospital at age 75. Doris is survived by two children, Sandra Plourde and Carl; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Clifford; her parents, three sisters and six brothers.

Dorothy, 93, passed away April 15, 2014 while a resident at Madigan Estates in Houlton. She was born July 27, 1920 at Houlton, the daughter of Raymond and Iona (Gilbert) Wood.

Dorothy was educated in the Houlton school system graduating from Houlton High School in 1939. She then attended Presque Isle Normal School, earning a teaching certificate in 1943 and went on to complete a B.A. degree from Aroostook State Teachers College in 1968 before it became the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Dorothy then went to a 30 year career teaching the sixth grade at Bowdoin Street School in Houlton. She was a gifted musician playing trumpet in both the Houlton High School and Town bands and was also versatile on the piano. Dorothy married Claude Adams of Linneus on his return from WWII and they spent most of their 51 year married life residing at 9 Elm Street where their son David Robert Adams was born in 1953. She had several hobbies. She was an avid knitter, quilter and loved to travel in Maine and Canada to square dances as long as she and Claude were able. They also traveled extensively with Mexico, Hawaii and the United Kingdom being among their destinations. Dorothy was a life-long member of the Houlton Methodist Church and often demonstrated her cooking skills at church suppers.

Dorothy is survived by her brother Clair Wood and his wife Marian of Veazie; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Claude, her son David and her brother Robert.

Paul died after a noble battle with esophageal cancer. He moved to Indianapolis in 1981, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colby College and his graduate studies at the New England College of Optometry. After receiving his optometry degree, he completed a one year residency in low vision rehabilitation in West Haven, Connecticut. He was a member of the clinical faculty at the Indiana University School of Optometry for seven years before starting his private practice in 1988 for low vision care. Paul was a member of the American and Indiana Optometric Associations, the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER), and the Indiana Low Vision Rehabilitation Society. He also served as a consultant for the Indiana School for the Blind, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and the VA Medical Center. In 2011, he was awarded "Outstanding Professional of the Year" by the AER. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carol; his two children, Brian and Amy; his sister Marie; and his brother Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Christie Bither; his brother Scott.

Earle served in the U.S. Armored Division, and saw service in Italy, France, Alsace Lorraine and Germany, as the liberators of Dachau prison camp.

He worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. for 54 years. He belonged to numerous organizations in Mane and Florida. Earle is survived by two daughters, Charlotte MacArthur and Kathryn Stoton of Houlton. He was predeceased by Ruth (Edwards), his wife of 60 years and his brother, Elmer Stoton.

Earle was a life long area farmer and carpenter. Earle is survived by his wife, E. Marie (McPherson) Peabody; his son, David Peabody; his daughter, Cheryl Welton; ; two brothers, Herman & Erwin; two sisters, Joyce Mitchell and Pam Peabody, two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Peabody (class of 1948).

Earle was a life long area farmer and carpenter. He was a past member of Houlton Lodge of Elks and a lifetime member of Elks National Foundation. Earle is survived by his wife, E. Marie (McPherson) Peabody of Orient; his son, David Peabody; his daughter, Cheryl Welton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Peabody and Ervin Peabody; two sisters, Joyce Mitchell and Pam Peabody; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold A. and Virginia (Cathlene) Peabody; his stepmother, Ruth (Crane) Peabody; and his brother, Donald Peabody.

She was born 1916, in Oakfield, the daughter of Lindsey and Mary A. (Pratt) Boutilier. Edith, her husband and their four sons all worked together on their potato and dairy farms.

Her articles and poems were published in Farm Journal Magazine and in Hoard's Dairyman. Her guest columns were enjoyed in the Bangor Daily News. She received four Award of Merit certificates: A Golden Award, in 1986 and 1987, Silver Poet Award, in 1989, and a Golden Award, in 1990. Edith is survived by four sons, Herbert, Leonard, Cecil and James; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1975; four brothers, Andy, Hadley, Lloyd and James Boutilier; and three sisters, Avis Briggs, Mildred Merritt and Josephine Vincent.

Edna M. Johnson of Hodgdon 82, passed away peacefully, secure in the love and comfort of her daughter’s home on November 5, 2014. Edna graduated from Houlton High School - Class of 1951 and took pride in never having missed a single class reunion spanning 63 years. After graduation, she went to work for JJ Newbury’s, where she met and subsequently married her husband, “Bus.” A hard-working woman, Edna held various bookkeeping positions through the years for Bill Doescher, Worthmore, Grossmans, and Dead River Company. In her later years, Edna was employed by Houlton Regional Hospital for 25 plus years. Edna also served in the capacity of Town Clerk of Cary Plantation in excess of 30 years.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Leonard (Bus) Johnson; her parents, Marvin and Lena (Smith) Foster; and her sister and brother-in-law, Leon and Laura (Foster) Hutchinson. Edna’s life was enriched by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine (CJ) and Bart Virgie of Hodgdon; her son, Fred Johnson and fiancé Christina Lessor of Windham. Edna’s life was further blessed by her grandson, Jonathan Virgie and his wife Erica of North Carolina; her granddaughters, Sydney and Sophia Johnson and their mother Lisa Johnson of Gray, and great-granddaughter, Adelynn Virgie of North Carolina. Edna enjoyed close family relationships with her nieces, Christy Hutchinson of Houlton, Helen Folsom and husband, Bruce Folsom of Hodgdon, Lori Picket Booth Windsor Locks, CT, and nephews, Gary Johnson of Baileyville and Alex and wife Lisa Hutchinson of Hodgdon, as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Edna also treasured the companionship of her dear friend, Pauline McGillicuddy of Hodgdon.

He passed away surrounded by his family at Volusia Hospice, Port Orange, Fla. Ed was residing in Port Orange, Fla., for the last 10 years with his wife of 54 years, Bernice. He attended Ricker College following which he worked in the field of finance and accounting. Ed also served in the National Guard. He is survived by his children, William and Michael of Portland, Diane Hiscoe of Houlton and Ruthann Duffy of Seattle; seven grandchildren;two sisters, Patricia and Mary Duffy. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice; his sons, James and Thomas; his grandson, Christopher Hiscoe; and his parents, Thomas and Evelyn Duffy.

Elizabeth Sally Reed, Houlton, wife of Floyd Reed, Sr., went to Heaven on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at home with her family by her side. She was born November 3, 1934 in Littleton, the daughter of Ray and Maxine (McCarthy) Henderson. Sally was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was past Noble Grand Portia Rebekah Lodge #78. Sally was employed at the Madigan Memorial Hospital from 1955 to 1973 when she retired. She went to work for SAD #29 in the cafeteria in the fall of 1973 and retired in 1997. Sally lived for her family and her Lord. Sally is survived by her husband of 61 years Floyd Reed, Sr.; two daughters Ann Merritt and her friend Kenneth Reeves and Marsha Reed; her son Floyd “Jay” Reed, Jr.; two grandsons Ryan Merritt and his wife Melissa, their children Emma, Noah, Brodie and Reed, Travis Merritt and his friend Penny Moffitt, children Ethan, Gabriel and Gabreil Ramos; one sister-in-law Jean Henderson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Eugene Henderson, her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Huey Tuttle.

Elizabeth is survived by her brother, John Putnam; and her sister, Maria Louise Putnam, She was predeceased by her parents, Aaron A. and Marie (Hacker) Putnam; and her brother, Aaron Hacker Putnam.
