Basil David McKinney, 79 of Bedford, NH died Tuesday July 16, 2013 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Born January 24, 1934 in Holton, Maine he was the son of the late Charles and Louise (Grant) McKinney. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Ann (Kantargis) McKinney. Basil graduated from Holton High School in Maine. He was employed with the former F.W. Woolworth for forty years and retired as a manager. Basil enjoyed cooking, playing cards, gardening and collecting teddy bears. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David McKinney, of Cambridge, MA; two daughters and one son-in-law, Heather Veitch and her husband Don, of Hillsboro, NH and Kelly Vadnais, also of Hillsboro, NH; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gene McKinney and his wife Judy, of New Jersey and Paul McKinney and his wife Donna, of Goffstown, NH; one sister, Diane Brogan and her husband Steve, of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Melissa, Charles, Kenneth, Kyle and Grace, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. SERVICES: There are no visiting hours or funeral service, private arrangements have been made. HOULTON and OLD TOWN - Bette A. Russell, 66, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2013, in Bangor, after a long illness. She was born June 4, 1946, in Houlton, the daughter of Claude and Ruth (Grant) Russell.

She is survived by one son, Robert Thomas; one daughter, Debra Woods; three sisters, Linda Cassidy, Judy McKeen and Donna Boyce; one brother, Nelson Russell; also a very close friend, Connie.

Betty Lou Baulch died peacefully August 10, 2011 at a Presque Isle hospital surrounded by her family. She was born May 3, 1934 in Houlton, the daughter of Harry and Betty (Ebbett) Baulch. Betty graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1952. She earned her BSN from Bates College in 1957, in a five year program that included two years of clinical experience in Boston hospitals. She began her employment at the then Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1968, teaching and providing clinical supervision to practical nursing students in Houlton. When the Houlton program closed in 1973, she moved to the Presque Isle campus. She additionally earned a masters in education degree in 1980 from the University of Maine. Betty led the nursing and allied health department at Northern Maine Community College for more than 12 years before her retirement in 1994. It was during her tenure as department chair that the associate degree nursing program was approved as a pilot program She was presented the Director's Award partly as a result of her efforts in making the nursing program a reality. While at NMCC, she served on the Maine State Board of Nursing for more than 10 years, taking on the role of president three times, and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing for eight years. Betty was happiest spending long summers at her camp on Idle Isle in East Grand Lake. Her brother and sister visited with their families each year staying on the adjacent island, so there were many shared meals, boating adventures, campouts, picnics and evenings of card games. Betty was able to indulge her love of gardening there on the island nurturing great pots of flowers and herbs. She was a splendid cook, famed among family and friends for specialties including pea and potato soup, baked Alaska and wondrous pies and preserves. Betty loved to travel and celebrated birthdays with her children at Tanglewood Music Festival and at Fenway Park with the Red Sox. She especially enjoyed cruises. She visited the Caribbean Islands, travelled through the Panama Canal for a stay in Costa Rica and went to Granada for a week at a spa resort. Betty is survived by her children Corris and husband Ron Pinette of Patten and their children Aaron Smith, Colleen Clark and Kylie Pinette; Walter Clark and his wife Mary of Southbridge, MA and their children Tabitha and Bethany; Michael Clark and his wife Leslie of Ooltewah, TN and their children Arianne and Joshua; her sister Judy Baulch Long of Hamden, CT; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Col. Henry Leigh Baulch.

Betty Lou graduated from Bates College with a BS and worked as an outstanding RN in Houlton for many years and then became an exceptional instructor of Nursing at Northern Maine Technical. College. She is survived by her children.

Bonita R. Foster 68, Houlton & East Windsor, NJ, passed away in East Windsor, New Jersey May 13, 2016 to be with her husband Wayne. She was born December 7, 1947 in Houlton, the daughter of Harold S. Jones Sr. and Inez E. (Heatley) Jones. Bonita was employed at the Maine Glove Factory and at Madigan Estates as a dietary aide for many years. Her loves were playing cards especially with her friend Mary White of NJ, traveling to Canada to play bingo, Facebook games, fill-in puzzles and recently took up crocheting. Bonita loved her church, St. David’s Episcopal Church in Cranbury, NJ. Bonita is survived by her children Vicki Goodall and her husband Thom of Littleton, Beau Sawyer and his husband Todd White of East Windsor, NJ, Heidi Lake and her husband Mark of Stacyville; four grandchildren Josh, Duska, Cody and Samantha, five great grandchildren Joshua, Mia, Aubrey, Riley and Liam; one brother Robert Jones and one sister Gerri Jones both of Houlton; brother-in-law Ralph Knight of Stamping Ground, KY; sister-in-law Gerri Jones of Easton; several nieces and nephews. Bonnie R. Savoy, 62, died August 21, 2014 in Bangor. She was born February 19, 1952 in Houlton, the daughter of Clarence and Natalie (Caron) Dunlop. Besides her mother, Natalie Botting and her husband, John of South Carolina she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul Savoy of Houlton; 2 children, Michael Savoy and his fiancée, Elaine of Wayne, PA, Jennifer Savoy of Houlton; a granddaughter, Sierra Savoy; a sister, Susan and Kerry Vail and a brother, Terry and Kathy Dunlop, both of SC. She was predeceased by her father.

Brenda, age 75, passed away peacefully Oct. 10, 2014 surrounded by her family at a local nursing facility. She was born Sept. 6, 1939 at Houlton, the daughter of Pauline (Stone) and Fred Ayotte, Jr. She enjoyed working the ticket booth with her daughters during the Houlton Agricultural Fair for many years.
She loved playing bingo.

Brenda is survived by her daughters Cindy Schools and her husband Ken, Suzanne Adams, Tammy McLean and her husband Trevor, Cathy Williams, Lisa Krahn and her husband Stan; eleven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; her siblings Carl Ayotte and his wife Barb, Mary Lovely and her husband Bret, Mike Ayotte and his wife Penny; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Kenneth, her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Barry Clark, her siblings Susan Woods, Anne Marie Ayotte and Earle Ayotte.

Brian, 47, passed away at his residence Oct. 28, 2014. He was born July 6, 1967 at Houlton, the son of Blake and Phyllis (Tarr) Donnelly. Donk grew up in Houlton and was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 85. He excelled in many sports including baseball and basketball, receiving the Willie Varney Award.

Donk was a long time employee of Ward Log Homes. Following this, he worked for the Mic Mac in Presque Isle and worked for the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians in their Human Resources Department. Donk served on the Houlton Town Council and was a sports announcer for WHOU. He was an avid Red Sox and NY Giants fan. Donk enjoyed playing golf at the Houlton Community Golf Course and coached Little League and Rec. basketball. He was a long time member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks serving in many capacities. He always “enjoyed his time in the garage.” Donk always had a smile on his face and was a great friend to all. He was a loving father, son and brother.

Donk is survived by his parents Blake and Phyllis Donnelly, his son David Matthew Donnelly all of Houlton; his brother John White Sr., three nephews John White, Jr. both of Houlton, Michael White of Linneus, Jared White of Bangor; special aunt Val Stewart of Linneus; many cousins, long time friend Bob Lorom.

Bruce, age 66, passed away on Jan. 29, 2013, at Physicians Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.

He attended North Knoxville Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bruce was also a very talented musician and wise beyond his years.

Bruce was predeceased by father, Lester Paul Reece; uncle, Cedric Thomas; wife, Nancy Condon Reece; uncles, Arnold and Harold; and aunt, Pauline. He is survived by wife, Teresa Jean Whedbee Reece; son, Benjamin J.; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen M. and Elizabeth, David L. and Patricia, and Eric G. and Emily; mother, Mildred Avis Quimby Reece; grandchildren, Bradley, Katherine and Lydia; sister, Connie Barry; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Bud Sennett; brother and sister-in-law, Berny and Diana Reece; aunts, Marie Thomas and Ruth Ivey; nieces and nephews, Jan, Derreck, Robin, Josh, Christine, Kim, Kelly, Steven and Michael; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He served with the Marines as a member of the Marine Band. He was the 3rd generation of musicians and enjoyed spending time with his grandfather and father at Robinson's Music Store on North St.. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Lorraine Robinson; and his sister, Marcia Holmchuck. Hew was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Emmons and Edith Robinson.

Budson C. Anderson, 79, died unexceptedly at his home on Nickerson Lake. He was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Houlton, son of Linwood E. and Clara A. (Carroll) Anderson.

A lifelong resident of the Houlton area, Bud graduated from Ricker Classical Institute in 1951 and Ricker College in 1955. After serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, N.J., he returned to Houlton and began his teaching and coaching career, which lasted more than 30 years.
While teaching at Houlton High School, he started the first golf team, which became a great success. Retiring from teaching in 1989, he worked for the United States Customs and Immigration Services.

He was a member of Ricker College Board of Trustees, Houlton Lodge of Elks, Masonic Monument Lodge No. 96 and Houlton Country Club. Bud was an avid golfer and skier, enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved challenging his grandsons, nieces and nephews in cribbage and gin rummy and often relaxed with daughter, Jayne, family and friends at his Nickerson Lake camp. He loved his daily dog walks with Ben. He enjoyed his activities with close buddies, whether it be breakfast and coffee, Thursday night bumper pool or regular golf outings.

Bud is survived by his daughters, Kim York and husband, Dick, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jayne Anderson of New Limerick; son, Jim Anderson and wife, Annie, of Davidson, N.C.; grandsons, Jamison York of New York City, Willson York and wife, Carey, of Herndon, Va., Nicholas York of Charlotte, N.C., and Logan Anderson of Davidson, N.C.; great-grandson, Carter York of Herndon, Va.; sisters, Betty Anderson of Houlton, and Judy Arnold and husband, David, of Newport News, Va.; brothers, Bob Anderson and wife, Jeannette, of Houlton, Bill Anderson and wife, Betty, of Orient; several nieces and nephews; and close companion, Betty Stone. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Sandra E. (Adams) Anderson; and infant son, Stephen Linwood Anderson.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church, with Deacon Al Burleigh and Father David Raymond officiating.

She was born June 29, 1974, in Houlton, the daughter of Sheila Connors and Kenny Trecartin. Candy is survived by her parents; her husband, Paul Cleary; two beloved sons, Connor and Cameron Cleary; her sister, Sherry Thibault; her brother, James Trecartin; an aunt, Pauline Connors; an uncle; a niece; and a nephew. .
