About	He graduated from HHS in the class of 1952. Dean served in the U.S. Navy. He served as principal of Island Falls High School and following this taught math at Houlton High School for 38 years. During school breaks and after retiring Dean could be found at York's Book Store helping his brother. Dean is survived by his brother, Lynn York of Houlton; three daughters, Jody of Orrington, Diane of Standish and Susan of Houlton; and two grandchildren, Casey and Gehrig of Orrington; a cousin, Garvin Golding and his wife Linda of Houlton. He will be fondly remembered as Gramps to Frank Dorr. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Malcolm E. and Muriel (Golding) York.
