Lucy A. Jones, 61, of Easton, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 in her mother's home surrounded by her family. Lucy was born* in Easton, PA, a daughter of Jane E. Vandegrift of Easton, and the late Anthony J. Amato. Lucy was married to the late Jerry Jones. Lucy was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of the Fleas club where she enjoyed playing bingo. She also enjoyed reading and sitting outside in her flower garden. In addition to her mother, Lucy is survived by a son Ryan P. Amato of Easton; a daughter Kelsey L. Jones of Easton; a brother Anthony Amato of Easton; grandchildren Preston Amato, and Ryenn Amato. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Funeral Service at 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Craig M. Austin, 57, of Palmer Township, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Gracedale. Born: March 26, 1954, in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was a son of the late Gilbert D. and June Day Austin. Personal: He and his wife, the former Debra M. Altmann, celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on July 30, 2011. Craig was last employed by Nestle Waters. Previously he worked for MCS Plastics for 18 years. He graduated from Easton Area High School in 1972. Craig enjoyed golfing, woodworking and building things. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Debra, he is survived by two sons, Joshua J., of Bethlehem Township and Zachary T. and his wife Alicia, of West Easton; a daughter, Elizabeth A., at home; a brother, Thomas D., of Norristown, PA; a sister, Amy E. Halloran and her husband Steve, of Exeter, NH; a brother-in-law, Christian Altmann and his wife, Catherine, of Palmer Township; three sisters-in-law, Paula Kirkland, of Easton, Karla Altmann, of Northampton and Vickie Austin, of Palmer Township; a soon to be born grandson, Thomas Patrick; nieces and nephews. Cay L. Baleshta, 56, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at her sister's home in Spring Garden Township, York. Born August 3, 1954, in Easton, a daughter of the late Harry and A. Joyce (Mearhoff) Baleshta, she was a 1974 graduate of Northampton Community College, where she received an Associate Degree; a 1976 graduate of Penn State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree; and a 1979 graduate of West Los Angeles, School of Paralegal Studies. She played varsity basketball at Easton High School, Northampton Community College, and Penn State University. She was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Penn State University. Miss Baleshta is survived by her sister, Kerry J. Seibert and her husband Craig, of Martins Creek; a nephew, Eric Hamme of Silver Spring, Md.; and three nieces, Ashley Shaub, Alexa Sheaffer, and Caylee Sheaffer, all of York. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lee A. Sheaffer, who died Saturday, March 12, 2011. A combined funeral service for Cay and her sister, Lee A. Sheaffer, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George St., York. Viewing for both will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. Barry A. Stauffer, 61, of Palmer Township, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Easton Hospital after being stricken at home. Born: July 19, 1949 in Wilson Borough, he was a son of Gloria Rohn Stauffer of Palmer Township and the late Harry C. Stauffer. Personal: Barry last worked at Pickels Garage, Wilson Borough. He had been a police officer for Lafayette College for over 20 years. Prior to that, he was a part-time police officer in Wilson Borough and began his career as a full-time police officer in Palmer Township. He was a 1967 graduate of Easton High School. Barry loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, reading, motorcycling and music, having been an amateur DJ for early rock and roll. Years ago, he bowled in a league at Bar-Don Lanes. Barry volunteered at Land of the Vikings, a camp for the visually impaired. Memberships: He was a member of Palmer Moravian Community Church. Barry was also a life member of Pennsylvania Association of Campus Crime Prevention Practitioners and years ago a member of the former Palmer Township Emergency Squad. Survivors: in addition to his mother, Gloria, he is survived by his wife, the former Darlene Hoffner, of Palmer Township; a daughter, Heather Hahn and her husband Eric, of Blakeslee, PA; and two grandchildren, Madeline Dawn and Wyatt Allen Hahn. Services: 7 p.m. Monday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Monday 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Barry E. Horn, 59, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at his home. Born: On November 20, 1948, in Easton, Pa, he was a son of Pearl Grube of Easton. Personal: He and his wife, Mary, were married for 37 years. Barry enlisted in the Army in 1967. His military career started with a tour of Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. During the next 19 years, he served on three separate tours in Europe as a Combat Engineer and also served as a Senior Drill Instructor at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He moved to St. Augustine in 1989 and was most recently employed at San Sebastian Winery. Barry was an avid music fan whose tastes ranged from rock and roll to classical. He enjoyed football, auto racing and barbecuing at family gatherings. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors: In addition to his wife Mary, and his mother, Pearl, he is survived by a son, Michael Horn and his wife Carrie; granddaughters, Mya and Amy of St. Augustine, Fla.; two daughters, Erika Wiseman and her husband Steve of Hendersonville, NC and Jamie Martin and her husband Sean and granddaughter, Sierra, of Fairbanks, Alaska; a brother, Gary Horn, and a sister, Patricia Werkeiser and her husband Andrew, all of Easton. A sister, Sharon Pilz, died earlier. Services: A memorial gathering celebrating his life was held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, Fla. Funeral services and interment followed on Tuesday at the Craig Memorial Cemetery in St. Augustine Memorial Cemetery. The Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Josephine "Josie" Tita, 66, of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Dec. 13, 2019. Born in Milan, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria BILLONE. Josie was a graduate of Easton Area High School, Class of 1972. She previously worked at Lafayette Bank and Antonio's Pizzeria and Ice Cream of Palmer Township. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She most recently attended Slate Belt Church. Josie was a loving wife to Louis J. Tita Jr. for 45 years. She loved spending time with her family and was a dedicated mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Josie is survived by her two children, MaryLou, wife of Michael Kuzio, and Louis J. Tita III, husband of Heather; five grandchildren, Michael and Autumn-Rose Kuzio, and Lorenzo, Angelina, and Bianca Tita; and her sister, Graziella Calantoni of Palmer Township. She was preceded in death by her brother, Giuseppe Billone. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morello Funeral Home, 3720 Nicholas St., Easton, PA 18045. David J BREEN, 19, the son of David J. Breen and Theresa A. Breen of Easton PA. Born Jun. 10, 1949 in Philadelphia, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps on June 21 1968 in Philadelphia PA. He arrived in Vietnam on December 10, 1968 and was assigned for duty with Company H, 2d Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. Beginning in January the Battalion continued search and clear operations west of An Hoa in the Duc Duc District of Quang Nam Province during Operation TAYLOR COMMON under the OPCON (Operational Control) of the 3d Marines. On January 12, Company-H on a routine reconnaissance patrol on the western slope of Hai Qui (Hill 882) was hit by a volume of small arms fire from a fortified position. 81mm mortars were fired in the support with the Marines assaulting and taking the position. During the firefight, four men were wounded and PFC Breen was killed Jan. 12, 1969 in Quang Nam, Vietnam in the action as a result of hostile rifle fire. Burial: Gethsemane Cemetery

With his loving family by his side, Darwin Brodt went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 17th 2016. Darwin lived in Bushkill Township with his wife and family. Born August 10th, 1956 in Fountain Hill, PA, he was a son of Doris E. Buzzard Brodt of Forks Twp and the late Wilson R. Brodt. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Forks Twp, PA. Darwin graduated from Easton Area High School in 1974. He was an All-American Wrestler for Easton and a District XI, Regional and PIAA State Champion at 167 lbs. He earned his B.S. in Education and Masters of Secondary Education from East Stroudsburg University, where he was an NCAA All-American Wrestler at 190 lbs. and placed in the NCAA Championships. After college, he wrestled on the USA Olympic Development Team and traveled overseas to represent the U.S.A. Darwin coached wrestling at Palisades High School, Moravian and Lafayette Colleges, and was the first Junior High coach for the Nazareth Area School District. He was also a PIAA wrestling official. He taught Social Studies for 1 year at Palisades High School and spent the next 31 years teaching American Government at Nazareth Area High School. He served as a Student Government Advisor and started a scholarship to benefit seniors in need. During election years, he took eligible seniors to the polls to learn and experience the voting process. Also a small business owner, he owned and operated Jet Black Driveway Service for many years. More recently, he owned and operated A-1 Quality Coins and Currency of Wind Gap, PA. Darwin was the loving husband of Brenda A. Brodt with whom he shared 28 years of marriage, and a loving father to his children, Brianna Brodt of Peckville, PA and Lauren Brodt of Brick, NJ. Also surviving are two brothers, Glenn Brodt and his wife Jill of Colorado Springs, CO, and Roland Brodt and wife Barbara of Wilson, PA. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother Daniel. Darwin also was an uncle to several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 28th at Faith Lutheran Church, 2012 Sullivan Trail Easton, PA 18040, from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm., which will be followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm. Services are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth. Cecil Dayton Brown Jr, 41, died as a result of an automobile accident on Sunday, Dec 14, 1994. He was born Feb 4, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas and was a son of Theresa (Amaya) Brown Burquette, and the late Cecil D. Brown Sr. He resided in Easton, PA for several years with his mother’s sister Estella Frutchey and her husband Milton. He was a 1972 graduate of Easton Area High School. Joseph James Calandra, Jr. passed away after an illness at the home he shared in NC with his loving companion, Betty Rowe on March 26, 2015 at the age of 64, in New Bern, NC. Born June 2, 1950, in Easton, PA to Joseph J. Calandra, Sr., and Nora (Tooma) Calandra.

Joe had a humor that would make everyone laugh with his endless stream of jokes and wit. He loved to boat, fish and enjoy the beach. He worked for the City of Easton prior to moving to North Carolina where he retired from The City of New Bern. He served in the Navy in the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Jamie Tracy, of Nazareth, PA; Paula Fisher and husband, Jimmy of Lehighton, PA; and his son Joseph J. Calandra III and fiance Liza Stankowski of Allentown, PA. He also leaves brothers, Raymond Calandra and wife, Marjorie of Ocean Pines, MD; Thomas Calandra and wife, Michelle of Stroudsburg; a sister, Kathy Kimble and husband, Charles of Nazareth, PA; and two grandchildren, Jason Tracy and Aaliyah Fisher. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Joseph J. Calandra, Sr. and Nora (Tooma) Calandra.

A private burial will be held at the Northampton Memorial Shrine in Pennsylvania.

Roland Junior Chase "Tuney and Killer", age 70 of Easton, MD went to sleep on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at home in Easton after a long illness.
He was born March 5, 1949 in Easton son of James Lester Chase and Clara Mae Chase. Roland was educated in the public schools of Talbot County. He graduated from Easton High School in 1968. Roland served in the National Guard for two years, employed by Talbot County Public Schools for three years before accepting a position with the Talbot County Sheriff Department. He served under the following sheriffs: George Forrest, Sr., Robert Gerlock, John J. Ellerbush, Thomas G. Duncan and Dallas G. Pope. Roland served the people of Talbot County for 36 years from March 17, 1975 to April 30, 2011. He received citations from the Maryland House of Representatives, Senate, and the Talbot County Council at his retirement celebration for his notable services of leadership during his tenure. Roland was a member of the Samuel T. Hemsley Lodge #974 in Easton and the Blake Blackston, American Legion Post #77 also of Easton.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: John Chase, William Lawrence and James Lawrence; 2 nieces: Brenda and Sandra Chase; and one step daughter, Sharenda Johns.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life and achievements, his loving wife of 29 years, Bonnie K. Chase; a daughter of this union, Rolchelle Chase of Easton; one son, Jermeanne Moaney of Greensboro; one step daughter, Douglisha Moaney (Jerrod), Easton; six grandchildren: Khira Gibson, Damian South, Nasir South and Jaliyah Moaney, all of Easton, Jadyn and Jermeanne Moaney, Jr., both of Greensboro; one great grandchild, Zora Gibson of Easton; 2 sisters: Susie Jenkins of Easton and Viola Chase of Easton; sisters in-law: Barbara Giles (Willie) of Greenwood, Betty Edwards (Willie) of Bridgeville, DE, Doris Terrell (Ricky) of San Antonio, TX, Delores Jacobs of Easton, Frances Lawley (Steve) of Chesapeake, VA, Shirley Jacobs of Capitol Heights, MD and Yuvetter Cook (Alvin) of Waldorf, MD; 4 special nephews: Tyler Chase (Emma) of Trappe, Lonnie Jenkins (Barbara) of Stafford, Virginia, Leon Jenkins, Jr. of Salisbury, and Darryl Jacobs of Baltimore; 2 special nieces: Bridgette Wright (Sylvester) of Cambridge, and Victoria Covington of Easton and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
