About Barry E. Horn, 59, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at his home. Born: On November 20, 1948, in Easton, Pa, he was a son of Pearl Grube of Easton. Personal: He and his wife, Mary, were married for 37 years. Barry enlisted in the Army in 1967. His military career started with a tour of Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. During the next 19 years, he served on three separate tours in Europe as a Combat Engineer and also served as a Senior Drill Instructor at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He moved to St. Augustine in 1989 and was most recently employed at San Sebastian Winery. Barry was an avid music fan whose tastes ranged from rock and roll to classical. He enjoyed football, auto racing and barbecuing at family gatherings. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors: In addition to his wife Mary, and his mother, Pearl, he is survived by a son, Michael Horn and his wife Carrie; granddaughters, Mya and Amy of St. Augustine, Fla.; two daughters, Erika Wiseman and her husband Steve of Hendersonville, NC and Jamie Martin and her husband Sean and granddaughter, Sierra, of Fairbanks, Alaska; a brother, Gary Horn, and a sister, Patricia Werkeiser and her husband Andrew, all of Easton. A sister, Sharon Pilz, died earlier. Services: A memorial gathering celebrating his life was held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, Fla. Funeral services and interment followed on Tuesday at the Craig Memorial Cemetery in St. Augustine Memorial Cemetery. The Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
