Barbara A. Schell, 61, of S. Collinwood Blvd., Fremont died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 30, 1948 in Escanaba, MI to Roy and Louise (Wunder) Seward. She was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Barbara married David A. Schell on April 15, 1972 in Fremont and he survives. She had twenty years of service at Quickcut until they closed. She then went to work at Aeroquip for eight years and retired in 2001. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed nature, gardening and traveling. Barb loved her cats, Alley and Rusty.

Barbara is survived by her husband, David A. Schell, Fremont, OH; children, Tracy Gant and her husband Thomas Gant, Lakeland, FL, Rachel Schell, Fremont, OH; siblings, Shari Harvey, Anchorage, AK, Gary Seward, Michael Seward, both of Bellevue, OH, Bonnie Towner of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Justin and Kayla Gant, Kristen Varallo and David Schell II.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to noon at Wonderly-Horvath-Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH

CONROE, TX: Brenda K. Inks, 45, of Conroe, TX passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital in The Woodlands, TX. She was born on March 8, 1967 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of August R. and Betty (Harrell) Lopez. She was a 1986 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Brenda married Tom Inks in 1996. She was employed with Continental Airlines in November, 1989 and started with Continental Express. She then went to Sales and Service in 1994 and in May, 1996 flew Domestic. Shortly after that she started flying International flights.

Brenda enjoyed flying and traveling. She loved keeping in close touch with her family and friends.

Brenda is survived by the love of her life, Tom Inks, Conroe, TX; sons, Justin and Colby Inks, Conroe, TX; parents, August and Betty Lopez, Fremont, OH; and sister, Lori (Thomas) Ball, Mason, OH.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dorothy and William Harrell, Felix and Emily (Roman) Lopez; brother, Robert Lopez.

SANDUSKY: Carol Ann Longoria, 52, of W. Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born October 3, 1956 in Fremont, OH to Floyd and Kathryn (Fritz) Viock.

She was a 1975 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Carol married Wenceslao "Vince" A. Longoria on July 3, 1984 in Houston, TX. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide at Park View Nursing Home in Sandusky for over eight years. Carol loved computers, listening to Country & Western music (especially Johnny Cash), watching old western movies, crocheting, cooking, baking and was very dedicated to her children.

Carol is survived by her husband, Wenceslao "Vince" Longoria, Sandusky, OH; children, David Allen (Genevieve) Longoria, Charlottesville, VA, Rose Marie (Carl) Stearn, Sandusky, OH; step children, Christopher (Mary) Longoria, Woodbridge, VA, Cathy Belkoser, Oregon, OH, Albert Longoria and John Longoria, both of Fremont, OH; sisters, Francis (Larry) Beekman, Kathy Collinsworth, both of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Carrie Marie Stearn and Aiden Longoria and nine step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Billy Jo Viock.

FREMONT: Christopher L. Zaleski, 55, of Fremont, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at his home.

He was born on May 29, 1954 in Sandusky, OH to Joseph and Shirley Lou (Arthur) Zaleski. Christopher attended St. Joseph High School and was a 1972 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1972-1976 during the Vietnam War. Christopher worked as a structural welder, sub-contractor working most recently in Mississippi. On May 31, 1997 he married Kimberly (Smith) Setzler and she survives. Christopher was a member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church and the K of C. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

Surviving in addition to his wife; are sons, Steve (Nicole) Gibson, Aaron Zaleski, both of Fremont, Tim Setzler of Gibsonburg; grandson, James Gibson; brothers, Joseph (Micki) of Norwalk, Jan (Darleen) and Matthew Zaleski of Fremont.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 12th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Tom Ackerman officiating. Burial will be at a later date at McGormley Cemetery.

BOWLING GREEN: Christopher Robert Corthell, 43, of Bowling Green, OH died Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Fremont, OH. He was born on May 25, 1969 in Fremont to Robert "Barney" C. and Mary Lou (Depinet) Corthell. He was a 1987 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance and Marketing from Miami University of Ohio in 1991.

Chris married Mary A. Davenport on November 22, 2003 in Pt. Canaveral, FL and she survives. He worked as a Para Planner for Ameriprise Financial in Bowling, Green, OH. Chris was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Bowling Green. Chris was an avid OSU fan. He enjoyed traveling, exercising, swimming and spending time with his children. Chris had a very special bond with his grandmother, Dolores.

Chris is survived by his wife, Mary A. Davenport-Corthell, Bowling Green, OH; children, Charles "Charlie" Corthell, Fremont, OH and Kennedi Corthell, Bowling Green, OH; parents, Robert "Barney" C. and Mary Lou Corthell, Fremont, OH; sister, Connie (Jeff) Sessler, Fremont, OH; niece and nephew, Kristin and Jordan Sessler; father-in-law, Randy (Theresa) Davenport, Green Springs, OH; brother-in-law, Kevin (Christie) Davenport, Berea, OH.

FREMONT: Craig Joseph Mosser, 43, a lifelong resident of Fremont, died in his sleep at his home on May 3, 2011.

Craig was born May 5, 1967 to Cecelia S. (Rote) Mosser and Cletus A. Mosser, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1985 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He also attended both the University of Toledo and the University of Cincinnati.

A loving and devoted son, brother and uncle, Craig is survived by sisters, Mrs. Cheryl A. (Robert) Knapp of Fremont and Mrs. Christine M. (Charles) Mosser of Erie County; and by a brother, Curtis A. Mosser of Plano, Texas; and one nephew, Derek R. Knapp of Fremont.

Private graveside services will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Any memorial donations on Craig's behalf should be made to the Fremont Ross Athletic Foundation. Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH, was entrusted with the privilege of serving Craig's family.

Emma Louise Williams, 54, of June St, Fremont, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at her home. She was born September 28, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to Charles B. and Erelene (Watkins) Williams. Emma currently worked as an assembler at Whirlpool Corporation and had previously worked for General Electric in Bellevue. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family and watching movies. She was fun loving and loved her grandson.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Terri (Mark Johnson) Williams, Sandusky, OH; sisters, Margaret Pettiford, Yvonne (Vincent) Price, both of Fremont, OH; brothers, Johnnie Williams, Toledo, OH, Charles Williams, Cleveland, OH; grandson, Ja’Torry Johnson; nieces and nephews, Rodney Pettiford, Michael Pettiford, Tyrone Price, Maleka Price, Shavonna Price, Dante Williams, Alexander Williams, Kizzy Williams.

Frank "Jake" Mattson, 55, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at his home in San Francisco where he lived for the last fifteen years. He was born on June 24, 1954 in Iron River, MI to Frank and Shirley (Murray) Mattson.

He was a 1972 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 1980 graduate of Miami University. He then received a Master's Degree from Drake University.

Frank is survived by his wife, Roseanne (Weber) Mattson; children, Jennifer, George and Margaret all of California; mother, Shirley A. Mattson, Fremont, OH; siblings, Shelley (Bruce) Gahn, Cincinnati, OH, Peter (Karen) Mattson, Austin, MN, Jane (Tom) Hart, Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Mattson and sister, Mary.

Services will be held in San Francisco.

Gilbert married Sally A. Rutherford on May 12, 1973 at Sacred Heart Church and she survives.

He owned and operated Gilbert and Associates Real Estate Consulting and Investing. He had also worked as a laborer at Peter J. Eckrich Co.

Gilbert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a loving father and loved to spend time with his family and friends at get-togethers.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Sally A. Brionez, Fremont; sons, Gilbert R. Brionez, III, Helena, OH, David L. Brionez, and Eric R. Gloria married Aaron Taylor, Jr. in June of 1995 in Clyde, OH and he survives. She was a Shop Supervisor for PEAK Industries where she had worked for the past two years. Gloria was a faithful member of Sanctuary Chapel and enjoyed cooking, shopping, eating out and spending time with family and friends. She was a kind and giving person.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Aaron Taylor, Jr., Fremont, OH; children, Eric (Heather Hardy) Baker, Fremont, OH, Talitha (Larry Edwards) Mines, Wilmington, DE, Daja Taylor, Fremont, OH; birth mother, Agnes Blake, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Javonte Mines, Jacen Edwards, Rosalyn and Kaliya Payton; nine step-children; many step-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

John A. Wisbon, 53, of Concord, NC and formerly of Fremont, OH died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Carolina Medical Center N. E. in Concord. He was born May 11, 1956 in Fremont to Jack and Rita J. (Heschel) Wisbon.

He was a 1974 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. John married Sue A. Hagerty on June 28, 1980 in Fremont and she survives. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation for twenty-four years. John built and serviced Fuel Pumps and Fuel Cells for all of NASCAR's Three Top Series. He last worked at Waterman Racing Components. John owned and raced Sprint Cars for sixteen years. He also loved golf and bowling.

John is survived by his wife, Sue A. Wisbon, Concord, NC; son, Shane (Jera) Wisbon, Concord, NC; siblings, Jacquelyn (Harold) Kemenah, Sandra Leasure, Patricia (Bernie) Lustritz, Nancy (Galen) Suter and Mary Ann (Jeff) Watts, all of Fremont, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Julia “Jayne” Michael, 61 of Court Street, passed away at her home on Monday evening. Jayne was born in Fremont on February 3, 1945 to Paul & Dorothy (Neiman) Hunsinger. Julia graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1963. In that same year, she married Don Michael on August 24, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Fremont. Jayne was a homemaker and mother for her family and in 1982 became employed by Fremont City Schools as a First Aid Attendant and then a Student Monitor until her retirement in April 2006. Jayne was also a cheerleader advisor for Fremont City Schools from 1977-1998. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Jayne is survived by her husband Don Michael of Fremont, son Tim (Melody) Michael of Plano, TX, daughter, Tina (Dr. Bryan) Foos of Oakwood, OH, grandchildren, Katie, Kristen, Kylie Foos of Oakwood, OH, McKina, T.J. and Mallory Michael of Plano, TX, sisters Mary Ann Devlin of Crystal River, FL, and Nancy Hammer of Cartersville, GA. Jayne is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sally Troike.


Visitation will be Friday from 3-9 P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home 416 S. Arch St. with an Eagles Auxiliary service starting at 7 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Lamont S. Miller 64, of Bidwell Ave., Fremont, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 15, 2009. He was born January 8, 1945 in Fremont, OH to Mahlon E. and Georgia J. (Dymond) Miller. He was a 1963 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Lamont served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Moore Business Forms for fifteen years. Lamont was a member of the VFW Post 2947 loved to listen to music from the 1950 and 1960’s.

Lamont is survived by his parents, Mahlon and Georgia Miller, Fremont, OH; brother, Randy (Cindy) Miller Fremont, OH; nieces, Shalimar and Ashley Miller; nephew, Ely Miller, two great nieces, Mackenzie and Jayla Miller.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Miller.

Maryrose "Mary" L. McDermott, 61, went to be with our Lord on September 16, 2009 after a lengthily illness. Her last days were spent at Valley View Healthcare Center in Fremont, OH.

She was born in Tiffin, OH on January 23, 1948 to Gilbert and Rose (Baskey) McDermott. She was a 1966 graduate of Ross High School and attended Bowling Green State University and Tiffin University. She worked as a licensed social worker for twenty five years with the Sandusky County Department of Human Services until she retired on February 1, 1999.

Mary was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Gamma Omega Chapter. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose and was a volunteer with the Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner since it’s inception.

Mary is survived by her adopted sister, Sandra (Gary) Tusen, Fremont; niece, Laura (Daniel) Clouse; grand nieces, Julia and Rachel Clouse all of Republic, OH; nephews, Matthew (Terra) and Michael Tusen both of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State St., Fremont. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Extejt officiating.

A celebration of Mary's life will follow in the Bishop Hoffman Hall at the church following Mass.

Burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, OH.

GAHANNA: Renee Jewett Thompson, age 53, of Gahanna, Ohio passed suddenly on September 18, 2012.

She was born February 6, 1959 in Fremont, Ohio and was a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Renee went on to earn an associate degree from Franklin University.

She will be remembered for her love of the theatre (Broadway shows) her passion for cooking and reading mystery novels, and her love for family and her pets.

Renee is survived by her husband, Gregory L. Thompson; daughter, Lauren Nourse; son, Joseph "Mickey" Nourse, Jr.; mother, Gretta Rakes; brothers, Randall and Richard Jewett; sister, Michelle Jewett; nieces, nephews, other extended family and good friends.

Family will receive friends 3-6pm Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 with a service beginning at 6pm.

Robert H. McNeely, Jr., 58, of Clyde, OH died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his home. He was born September 3, 1950 in Logan, WV to Robert H. McNeely, Sr. and Wilma (Hall) Dorsey.

He was a 1970 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Robert married Linda Liwo-McNeely and she survives in Toledo, OH. Robert was formerly employed at Great Lakes Windows in Toledo, OH until he retired.

Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Liwo-McNeely, Toledo, OH; children, Robert H. McNeely III, Toledo, OH, Jenny McNeely, Green Springs, OH; mother, Wilma Dorsey; Clyde, OH brother, Dana Dorsey III, Grand Rapids, MI; sister, Hattie Rife, Clyde, OH; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation: Monday from 5 to 9 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420

Service: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 11:00 am at the Funeral Home.

FREMONT: Ronald "Ron" C. Edmonds, 71 of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born on May 13, 1941 in Fremont to Claude E. and Irene (Kokai) Edmonds. Ron was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He was a member of the Water of Life Fellowship in Port Clinton and the Fremont Senior Center. Ron was a resident of Fort Stephenson for over 16 years. He was known for his artistic painting, wood working and many other qualities.

Surviving is a sister, Janet (Larry-Butch) Mooney of Toledo; brother in law, Dave Souders of Fremont; four nephews, one niece, one great-nephew and four great nieces; Ron's best buddy, Bill Parlow and special friends, Suzy and Gene Carson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Souder; and grandparents, Ross (Laura) Edmonds and Joseph (Mary) Kokai.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22nd at 2 p.m. at the Fremont Senior Center (basement - 600 W. State St., Fremont) with Pastor Gene Weishuhn officiating. A lunch will immediately follow the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Water of Life Fellowship, P.O. Box 155, Fremont, OH 43420 in Ron's memory.

SPRINGFIELD, OH: Sandra (Hite-Druckenmiller) DesCombes, formerly of Fremont, died the morning of January 20, 2010 at Springfield Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sandra was born September 5, 1949 to Frances and Helen (Smith) Hite of Fremont. She was a 1967 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 2005 graduate of Clark State Community College.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Rick DesCombes of Springfield, OH; daughters, Denise (Druckenmiller) Rogers (Rob) of Wichita, KS and Bethany Druckenmiller of Centralia, WA; grandsons, Robby and Andy Rogers of Wichita, KS; brothers, Thomas Hite (Pam) of Fremont, OH and Robert Hite (Robin) of Huntington Beach, CA; sister, Pat Grokin (Tom) of Riverside, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be January 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3080 Bell Dr., Fairborn, OH. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

CLYDE: Susan Louise Maines, 64, of Clyde, died at her home on Sunday, July 3, 2011.

Mrs. Maines was born in Sandusky on Jully 4, 1946 to Arthur F. and Kate (Opfer) Doust. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1964, where she was the very first Football Queen; a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde; a member of the former Women's Club; helped with Clyde Safety Village; and a member of the Hertiage League.

She had been a homemaker and worked briefly at the former Clyde Savings Bank.

Survivors include her husband, John D. Maines, whom she married on August 15, 1964; their son, Mark (Heidi) Maines, Clyde; grandchildren, Meriah and Heath Maines; her mother , Kate Doust, Fremont; siblings, Elizabeth Doust, Fremont, Ginny (Ben) Chambers, Bowling Green, Mike (Marjjie) Doust, St. Petersburg, Fla, and Pat Doust, Columbus.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Maines on May 27, 1984; and her father.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Clyde Library; Kelly Maines Memorial at Terra; Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
