CLYDE: Susan Louise Maines, 64, of Clyde, died at her home on Sunday, July 3, 2011.
Mrs. Maines was born in Sandusky on Jully 4, 1946 to Arthur F. and Kate (Opfer) Doust. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1964, where she was the very first Football Queen; a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde; a member of the former Women's Club; helped with Clyde Safety Village; and a member of the Hertiage League.
She had been a homemaker and worked briefly at the former Clyde Savings Bank.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Maines, whom she married on August 15, 1964; their son, Mark (Heidi) Maines, Clyde; grandchildren, Meriah and Heath Maines; her mother , Kate Doust, Fremont; siblings, Elizabeth Doust, Fremont, Ginny (Ben) Chambers, Bowling Green, Mike (Marjjie) Doust, St. Petersburg, Fla, and Pat Doust, Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Maines on May 27, 1984; and her father.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Clyde Library; Kelly Maines Memorial at Terra; Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
