Retired from active duty as a CW4 after 26.5 yrs. Graduated from Flight School in Sep '69 and flew UH-1 Hueys in Viet Nam Jun '70 thru Jun '71. Spent my last 20 yrs flying CH-47 Chinooks, the largest helicopter in the US Army. As the Senior Instructor Pilot for A Co 5th Bn 159 Avn Rgt in Schwaebisch Hall Germany, took the unit to Saudi Arabia in Dec '90, for Desert Shield/Storm. During my career I flew throughout the US, Viet Nam, Korea, Japan, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. Flew in steaming jungles, broiling deserts, and majestic mountains. I've been shot at and missed, and sh__ at and hit. Been rid hard and put away wet, but wouldn't trade it for anything.
