Swore in at the L.A. AAFEES.Basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC. AIT at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio TX. Became 91 B10 Combat Medic. Sent to Ft. Kit Carson,CO. (4th Med. Bn.,4th Infantry Div.,(Mech). Ended up stationed in Bamberg, W.Germany- 1st of 52nd Infantry (Mechanized)remaining there until Hon. discharge. It was the height of the "Cold War' In Europe at that time.

After training at Ft. Bliss, TX and Ft. Sill, OK, I served 13 months in Germany with the 1st TAB, 26th Artillery. After 6 more weeks of training back at Ft. Sill, I served 12 months in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division Artillery near the Cambodian border and Ho Chi Minh Trail.
