Endured 11 weeks of boot camp at MCRD, Parris Island, SC. Followed with Infantry training at Camp Lequene, NC. Briefly stationed there for about 3 months, then assigned to 1st Marine Airwing in Atsugi, Japan.The Division provided support to Danang, Vietnam prior to the war's escalation. Returned stateside in 1965 for my final two years being stationed at Parris Island. Honorably discharged in August 1967.

Received additional training at the NCOES Transportation Acadamy at Fort Eustis, VA and was promoted to SP4 (DEC of '72). Assigned to HQ MTMC at Bailey's Crossroads, VA and attached to 3rd Infantry, Fort Myer, VA; I was the command staff driver, and document courier that assisted transportation needs of a Two (2) Star Army General, a Rear Admirial, and several Colonels. I was released (PCS) at Fort Belevior, VA in JUN 1975 after three years of service at the rank of SP5.
