KAYN’s mission is to connect students to Christ, Church and Community by helping them to: Discover a relationship with Christ and His Church; Develop their talents, habits and character; and Deploy to serve and lead in their community. KAYN believes in starting with the individual student. Teens today struggle with questions like “who am I - where do I fit in - why is life so hard – Is there even a God who cares about me?”. Dr. Richard Dell in the News
Former East Vandergrift resident Richard M. Dell, MD was the principal presenter for the 2008 Scientific Exhibit "Role of the orthopedic surgeon in osteoporosis disease management" at the 75th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
A graduate of Kiski Area High School, Pennsylvania State University, and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Dell is an orthopaedic surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, the large California HMO.
Because of his leadership role in reducing hip fractures at his facility and in developing an osteoporosis prevention program for the entire organization, Dr. Dell is featured in the article, "Healthy Bone Team halves hip fracture rate" in the June 2008 issue of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons monthly journal, "AAOS Now" http://www.aaos.org/news/aaosnow/jun08/clinical9.asp.

Alumni Option Screenplay
Former East Vandergrift residents and sisters Diana Dell, Kiski Area High School '63, and Barbara Dell McPherson, Vandergrift High School '60, have optioned their World War II drama script "My Name is Anna Busch" to indie producer LaMont T. Cain of The Reserve Entertainment Group.
Boston writer Diana Dell is the author of “Memories Are Like Clouds” and “A Saigon Party: And Other Vietnam War Short Stories.” She also owns the web site VietnamWar.net and is the compiler and editor of three “Memorable Quotations” books.
First-time screenwriter Barbara Dell McPherson is an attorney in Florida and did the research in Poland for “My Name is Anna Busch,” a story inspired by Diana’s and her Polish family during World War II.
Los Angeles producer Lamont T. Cain is currently developing "People's Choice," a big screen project based on the friendship between Brooklyn Dodgers legends Pee Wee Reese and Jackie Robinson.
