ARMY RESERVES - ATTAINED RANK OF SP-5 199TH SIGNAL CORP WAS MESS SERGANT - LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE- WENT IN WHEN I WAS 17 YEARS OLD IN OCTOBER OF 1963 -MY FIRST ALL DAY RESEVE MEETING WAS A SUNDAY ON NOV. 24TH --THAT WAS 2 DAYS AFTER THE JFK ASSASINATION. HAD 6 MONTHS OF SEVICE FINISHED BEFORE EVEN GRADUATING FROM LINCOLN - WENT IN TO ACTIVE DUTY FOR 6 MONTHS STARING JULY OF 1964 GOT OUT OF ACTIVE DUTY NOV 22ND 1 DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING ATTENDED MY FIRST YEAR LINCOLN RE-UNION THE NEXT DAY. THEN I SPENT 5 YEARS OF GOING TO MEETINGS DISCHARGED IN OCT OF 1969.
I WAS THE YOUNGEST EVER TO ATTAIN THE RANK OF SP-5 IN THE HISTORY OF MY UNIT. IT SAVED ME FROM EVER GOING TO VIETNAM. SO I AM THE LUCKIET MAN TO HAVE EVER LIVED AND WILL BE INFINITLY GRATEFUL.
