Class of 1971
Army, 20+ Years
My father, Charles Flowers, served 22 1/2 years in the military for both the US Air Force (1972-1985) and the US Army (1985-1994). I served only 5 months in the US Army in 1999, but I am proud of my short amount of time and would gladly do it again.
My father may not have been in any wars, but I'm proud of him for serving his country with pride and honor; as I am proud of myself for following in his footsteps, no matter how short my tour was.

Committed to USMC January, 2000. Entered boot camp 9/11/2000. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA 9/11/00 to 2/15/05. Deployed Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan 2002; first USMC unit into Baghdad 2003; deployed USMC special forces Fallujah 2004. Current career in law enforcement.

She then went to train for her job as a Master At Arms in San Antonio, TX at Lackland AFB. She is now stationed at Bangor NSB in Washington. She is currently serving with the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion until December 2010

After completion of Boot Camp and various technical training schools I served for 24+ years in the U.S.A.F. both state side and abroad. Stationed in: Blytheville Ar, Dover De, Okinawa Japan, Korea, Turkey and others that I can not mention. Served as Flight and Maintenance Superintendent, First Sergeant, Security and Mobility Officer. Received numerous medals and awards for campaigns and operations as wells as; for personal achievements. I worked on numerous airframes and platforms: B-52 G/H, T-37, F-5, T-38, KC-125, KC-10, C-5, C-17, F-4E/R, F-16, F-15D/E, F-111, and various Drone frames. Enjoyed many deployments and duty locations during my time in the service and met some amazing people along the way.

Commissioned into active duty 1980, ARMY Field Artillery. OBC in OK then to Germany, 1/41 FA BN, Pershing Missle, 7th ARMY CORPS. Back into Reserve status, 1984. Remained active, promoted to Captain. Returned to USA in 1988 . Did 2 months temp. assignment at Ft Hood during Desert Storm, preparing soldiers to deploy. Assumed command of 1/9st Training HQ CO from 1990-94.
