Class of 1975
Date of Passing Mar 02, 2026
Jessi Frances Sitar was born on August 17, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to her loving parents, Mildred Bosson and John Sitar. She passed peacefully at her home in San Diego, California, on March 2, 2026, due to health complications. Her mother and father both preceded her in passing some years earlier.
From a very young age, Jessi had a deep connection to music. By the age of five, she discovered her natural gift for the piano, inspired by her mother, who was a piano teacher. Her love for music continued to grow throughout her life and expanded into playing bass, guitar, and singing with several local bands. Most recently, she performed with the band Los Reyes, a tribute group honoring the music of the Gipsy Kings, where she shared her love for Flamenco and Latin music. To those who knew her, Jessi was truly a rockstar.
Jessi attended and graduated from Willowbrook High School in Illinois. After deciding to follow her dreams as a musician and explore new opportunities, she moved to San Diego, California, where she spent the rest of her life.
Jessi was a proud and loving mother to her two daughters, Nalani Sitar Bringas and Carla Sitar Bringas, who meant the world to her. Between the three of them, they shared a special nickname for one another—“Suki”—a name filled with love, laughter, and the deep bond they shared as a family.
Outside of music, Jessi loved spending time at the beach, collecting shells, fishing, and making people laugh. She was known for lighting up any room with her presence, humor, and charisma. People will remember her kind, soft-spoken soul, loving spirit, and her natural ability to help anyone who needed it.
Jessi also had a deep love for animals. She cared for two beautiful timber wolves, Isis and Wolfie, and most recently her beloved cat, Athena.
Her appreciation for beauty extended into her passion for jewelry and gemstones. Jessi attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), where she studied gemstones and developed a love for unique and beautiful jewelry. Known for her distinctive style, Jessi was truly a fashionista.
Jessi was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her daughters and the close friends she held near to her heart. Though she is no longer with us, her love, laughter, and music will forever echo in our hearts.
