I am so very sad to post that our brother, Walt Hodges, lost his battle yesterday to the 'BEAST' we call cancer. Most of you know that Walt was an award winning artist and a bright light in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Walt had a rare gift of seeing beauty and color in the world around him. Through his art, he expressed a creativity and imagination that were so HIM. Many of you own a piece of his beautiful work that hangs in your home. His work was more than something he created - it was a reflection of the way he experienced life with a sense of wonder.
He had a way of making people feel seen and loved and his presence and smile could brighten even your hardest days.
He was a cherished brother, uncle, cousin and friend and a deeply loved member of the community.
Our hearts are broken but so grateful to have shared his extraordinary light. We miss you already but will think of you every time we look at a piece of your art. Loving you forever. SHINE ON BROTHER.
Walt was proceeded in death by his parents, Curtis and Flossie Hodges and his sister and brother -in-law Jim and Donna Conner.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Annette Hodges and Carolyn Hodges Campbell (Pete) and many nieces and nephews: Tammy Meador, Lee Meador, Jeff Conner (Dori), Angela Conner, Kim Horn (Julie), Sherry Williams (Susie).
Want to mention Niece Skylar Williams because Walt took care of her beautiful, curly head of hair from the time she was born until her Junior Prom. He was her hairstylist, her biggest cheerleader and her favorite Uncle.
Special thanks and hugs to his Care-givers Chantae Smith and Beth Kihlmire. Also, thank you Good Samaritan Hospice for your loving care in his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I remember him as an artist and the drum major for WBHS band! He always had something amusing to say. He will be so missed.
