About	Martha Jane Harris Matthews, 83, of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Brown Matthews and her parents, Albert C. and Eunice Harris. Mrs. Matthews was a graduate of William Byrd High School, Vinton, and the University of Richmond. Retiring in 1987, she was with Roanoke County for 31 years, the last 25 of which was with the Roanoke County Library System. Surviving are her sisters, Dorothy H. Parrish of Roanoke and Sarah H. Schuermann and husband, William of Williamsburg, Va.; brother, David S. Harris and wife, Kay of Westport, Ind. and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Roanoke Valley S.P.C.A., 1340 Baldwin Ave. NE, Roanoke, Va. 24012. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Elmo McLaurin will officiate. Arrangements are by Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.
