About	Katherine L. Wood, 98, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was the daughter of W. Lee and Gretchen Noell Wood. Katherine was a 1936 graduate of Jefferson High School and later graduated from Farmville State Teachers College in 1940. Katherine taught in Eagle Rock High School and William Byrd High School. She retired from the U.S. Government Department of Commerce, NOAA. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Julia M. Wood and Virginia W. Guerrant. She is survived by her friends who cherish her memory. A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Hermitage in Roanoke, 1009 Old Country Club Road NW, Roanoke, 24017. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or a favorite charity.
