About Peacefully and unexpectedly, Mary Ann Mangum departed this life on March 11, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. Mary Ann was the first born out of seven children by Arthur W and Sarah J Burch. Mary went to Carver and William Byrd High School then later attended Virginia Western Community College where she studied the nursing field in which she loved to care for others.

Mary was a member at BibleWay Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ; under the leadership of the late Bishop CP Jones and Elder Robert K Ingram, she was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at a young age. Later, she joined the Victory Chorus Choir. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur W and Sarah J Burch, three sisters Gloria M Ross, Vanessa D Petty, and Linda G. Miller, along with one brother Arthur W. Burch Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are her four children Keith Mangum, Tameka (Marcellus) Davis, Stephen Mangum, and Lorenzo Frazier. Two sisters, Ellen Fair and Florence (Franklin) Walker. Thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A very special niece and caregiver known to her as Pookie, three devoted friends; Wanda Bryan, Gaynell Wright who was her best friend and treated her like a sister, Tynisia Parker who she loved as a daughter and Messiah whom she loved as her own grandson.
Funeral service Tuesday, March 23, 2021, 1PM at Serenity Funeral Home. Interment in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
