About	Robert Oliph Price passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, after battling many illnesses. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Sue Graham Price; his son, Robert Jared Price; and his three sisters, Nancy (Jerry), Cathy (Ron), and Linda (Bob). Other caring family members include his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Larry Mattox, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Robert graduated from William Byrd High School in 1967 and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. Following his military service, Robert was employed by the National Park Service as an exhibit specialist. Robert loved the outdoors. He found joy in activities such as stalking deer and fishing to catch the largest largemouth bass in Smith Mountain Lake. Robert was also a passionate golfer who cherished time spent on the course with friends at Blue Hills. One of his favorite traditions was the annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach. He also enjoyed traveling with his special friends, Otis and Jo Dowdy. Robert was a wonderful husband, loving father and loyal friend, who will be greatly missed. His kindness, love of the outdoors, and dedication to family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him. An interment service will be held at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the American Cancer Society.
