Barbara Ann Fore Huffman, 83, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va. went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
She graduated from William Byrd High School in 1958. She worked at Appalachian Power and then went on to work at several other companies in the information technology field. Barbara and her husband spent many years in real estate, remodeling and selling houses. She has been a long-time member of The Waterfront Country Club and resident of Smith Mountain Lake.
Barbara loved her husband dearly and was very close to her brother and sisters. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and their children whenever possible. She was an avid golf and college basketball fan. Barbara was a very kind and generous lady who loved life at the lake.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur "Bill" and Josephine Fore; her sister, Betty and her husband, Buford Thomas; her sister, Carol Sue Boone; and nephew, Curtis Thomas.
She is survived by her husband, David Wilson Huffman; her sister, Nancy and husband, Wayne Boitnott; her brother, Dwight Fore; and brother-in-law, Richard Boone. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Kevin Thomas, Regina Poff, Tracie Gross, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Oakey's Funeral Home in Vinton, Va. from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, immediately followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Interment services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va.
