I joined right out of high school. Basic training was at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. From there, I was at F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY; then I went to NAS Keflavik, Iceland; McChord AFB, Tacoma, WA; Yokota AB, Japan, and finally to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, OK. I've also been to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Israel, Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Wake Island, MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL and Robins AFB, Warner Robins, GA

Spent 4 years in the Navy enlisted from 1965-1969 during Vietnam, then worked for IBM for 8 years, went back to school and was commissioned in the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1979 and served another 18 years. Retired as a Major in 1997. Went to Germany in 2001 as a civilian schools liaison officer until 2007. Returned to the US to Edwards Air Force Base California for a year and finally moved to Cibolo, Texas in 2008 where i currently live near San Antonio.

Joined in 2000. Went to Shaw AFB SC as a personnelist. Retrained in 2003 as a dental lab tech had to be at Sheppard AFB TX for 10 months. Then went to Cannon AFB NM for 16 months were I met my husbad Terry. He went to Kunsan for a year and I came to Hurlburt Field FL. Were I am currently at the best assignment ever! I hope to stay here for a long time. I have been deployed to Kuwait. I hope to stay in the AF until I hit my 20 and retire in San Antonio!

KEY POSITIONS HELD INCLUDED SQUARDON AND GROUP COMMANDER/HQ AIR FORCE AND HQ STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND STAFF OFFICER/SINGLE AIR FORCE MANAGER FOR THE BEAR WEAPON SYSTEM. DEPLOYED AND LED AIR COMBAT FORCES IN DESERT STORM , WAS ON THE TEAM THAT NEGOTIATED THE TURN OVER OF THE PANANA CANAL TO HOST COUNTY AND WOKED AS A STAFF OFFICER ON THE PRESIDENT'S AIRCRAFT AF ONE. AFTER TWENTY SIX YEARS OF SERVICE RETIRED AT THE RANK COLONEL IN 2001.

Entered Basic Trng/ AIT Feb 1980, then returned to USAR 312th Gen Sup Co. Fort Des Moines, and then Ames, IA. until May 1984, went Active Army, till Dec 1989. Stationed in Fort Hood, TX and where I met and married my wife. Returned to Iowa, where after a year, went back to Ames, IA with the Reserves, in Sept 1991, transferred to Iowa National Guard in Fort Dodge, IA, then transferred to 3655th in Eagle Grove, IA. Where I retired from in Mar. 2002. at the rank of SGT, E-5 with 21 years. I've trained in many different MOS, but never went to war, but did many different training sites. Especially, Fort Irwin, CA. Been there approx. 11 rotations. And, still don't like tents to sleep in. I retired due to injuries that I got from different field problems, that never were taken care of, until after the mission was completed, but the damage was done, and never was able to reverse the damages. I just have to live with them.

I was an enlisted tuba player for over 4 years and was a Spec 5 when I completed Warrant Officer Bandmaster school and received my warrant bars. I was a CW2 when I received a direct commission to 1st Lieutenant as an Army Band Officer. I played tuba with the Eighth US Army Band in Seoul, Korea and the US Continental Army Command Band at Ft Monroe, VA. As a bandmaster I commanded the 82d Airborne Division Band at Ft Bragg, NC; the 41st Army Band and the 82d Army Band both in the Stuttart, Germany area; and the 399th Army Band at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. As a commisioned Band Officer, I was the Fifth Army Staff Band Officer at Ft Sam Houston, TX; the Commandant of the Army Element of the School of Music at the Naval Amphib Base in Little Creek (Norfolk), VA; and was the Forces Command Staff Band Officer at Ft PcPherson (Atlanta), GA. Over my last 2 1/2 years in the service I was the Recruiting Operations Officer for the Army District Recruiting Comand HQ in Peoria, IL . I retired from the active Army effective June 1, 1983 at the rank of Captain.Traveling during my assignments and as an Army Band technical inspector took me to 37 of the States, West and East Germany, Berlin, Belgium, Scotland, Newfoundland, Virgin Islands, Japan, Korea, and Hawaii. In all I traveled to well over 50 military installations, National Guard Armories, and Army Reserve Centers in the conduct of my duties. It was a most enjoyable career. High points were playing for President Lyndon Johnson in Spring 1968 when he flew to Fort Bragg. Also the two trips to Berlin for band performances were most memorable.

Plans, organizes, implements, and controls maintenance on all assigned support equipment in compliance with policy statements and directives by NAVAIR, type commanders and local commands. Implements and supervises aviation programs and operator training. Manages the preventive maintenance system on assigned support equipment.

Obtained the work orders and prepared the tools necessary for repair of the equipment.. Maintained and repaired a variety of equipments like forklifts, tugs, pay loaders and other larger airport vehicles. Replaced, repaired, installed mechanical and hydraulic system, electric and diesel engines. Maintained work orders sheet and provided status of every work order.

Maintained and performed preventative measures on vehicles and equipment’s by regularly troubleshooting. Diagnosed diesel engines and repaired, modified and replaced them accordingly. Troubleshoot diesel and gasoline engine without using the computer diagnostic machines.

Have served in the US Navy for 23 years, I have been stationed on a few ship's including the USS Dubuque, USS Peleliu, USS Nimitz, USS John C Stennis, USS Abraham Lincoln. And now it is time for me to say goodbye to the Navy and it is time I move with my new life.

I enlisted in the Air National Guard where I was stationed at the 133rd Test Squadron, Ft. Dodge. I spent 4 years as an 1C571 (Aerospace Control and Warning Systems) before I commissioned as an Air Battle Manager. From there I went on to the NY Air National Guard and worked for the 152 Air Operations Group as the Joint Interface Control Officer for EUCOM supporting the 603 AOC at Ramstein AB. In 2005 I moved to CA to be with my husband and in 2007 I transferred to the Air Force Reserves and into the 349 AMW. I am currently cross-training into an Intelligence AFSC. I have been to Korea several times, Japan, Iraq and Germany.

I joined after high school and enlisted into the Armor Branch as a 19K Tank Armor Crewman. I received my first orders and they took me to the republic of South Korea for a year long tour. I spent the next 8 years stationed at Fort Carson with 1/3 Armored Cavalry Regiment in Colorado. I have held all positions on the tank from Driver to Loader, i was a Gunner, and finally a Tank Commander. I deployed twice to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 and 3. I was in Baghdad, Haditha, Falluja, Al Qaim, Tikrit, Ramadi, Tall Afar, Sinjar areas during these 2 deployments. From there i moved on to Fort Knox, Kentucky to spend some family time and get some college completed. While at Ft. Knox I attended the 19D Scout transition school and advanced my tactical and technical knowledge trading in my big safe tank for a Humvee and a lot of walking. After a year at Ft. Knox, I moved on to Germany where i am currently stationed. I am assigned to the 1-2 Infantry, 172D Brigade where i am the Recon Platoon Sergeant. We are currently deployed in Iraq where i have been able to add, Iskandariah, Diwaniyah, and Najaf to my Iraq tour. I have been awarded my Silver and Gold Spurs, the Meritorious Service Medal, 2 Bronze Star Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals, the Order of Saint George, Expert Rifle, Pistol, and Machine Gun Qualification Tabs, the Combat Action Badge, a Drivers Badge. I have completed Warriors Leaders Course, Basic NonCommissioned Officers Course, Advanced NonCommissioned Officers Course, HAZMAT, personnel security, Air Load Planners course, Rules of Engagement and Use of Deadly Force Course(through DEA and Baltimore FBI), Field Sanitation, Combat Lifesavers Course, the Army's Instructor Training Course, Equal Opportunity Course, and the Natural Disaster Course. My immediate goals are to attend Air Borne, Air Assault, and Pathfinder Course after this deployment, redeploy to Afghanistan for a 12 month tour and put in a Special Forces Packet. Long term goals are to spend three years as a Special Forces operator and attempt to make a Delta Team, retire and co-operate a security business with a friend and fellow Soldier.
