Marine Corps, 3 Years
I joined the Marine Corps in early February 1967 and by mid-August I was in Vietnam as a scout-sniper with "B" Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. I was wounded twice in six days during the Tet Offensive of February 1968; minor shrapnel wounds on the 4th and a gunshot wound to the abdomen on the 10th. I was medevac'd to Great Lakes Naval Hospital where I recovered. I was discharged on 30 Jan. 1970 and used the GI Bill to attend MSOE where I graduated in 1973.
