A year after graduating from UDHS, I decided to drop everything and join the United States Navy. I graduated from boot camp Aug 5, 2008 where I was sent to Meridian, MS becoming a Yeoman and stationed onboard USS Cole (DDG 67). I was deployed off the coast of Somolia for Pirate Deterency. After Three years I was sent back to Great Lakes, IL where I became a Quatermaster (Navigation) and stationed at Riverine Squadron 3 - Detachment Yorktown (later changed to Coastal Riverine Squadron 3). I was deployed to the Middle East. Once Detachment Yorktown was decommissioned I was stationed onboard USS Gonzalez (DDG 66). Deployed once more to the Middle East I was sent home due to medical issues developed from my time in service where I spent the last year of service at Naval Station Norfolk - Operations Department before being medically retired.
