Bob started out in the USMC after graduation in 1956, switched to the Army in 1959 in the Army Security Agency. In 1964 he was commissioned in Field Artillery and went on to serve another 20 years as a Military Intelligence officer. He served two tours in Viet Nam. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985.
