I was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock CVA-19 where I worked on the Flight Deck in V-1 Division as a Roof Rat and Yellow Shirt Plane Director. Achieved the rank of ABH-3 after 4 deployments off the coast of Vietnam. Honorable discharge in 1970.

Joseph George

Army, 20+ Years
LTC Joseph George joined the army in 1974 as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant before attending OCS in 1983. He was commissioned in the Infantry upon graduation from OCS in 1984. He has held leadership positions in Infantry units in the United States, to include a number of staff assignments in Battalion, Division, Army Staff, and Combined Joint Task Force operations.
LTC George graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Courses, the U.S. Army Military Police Advance Course, the Ordnance Advance Course, the Multi-Functional Logisticians Course, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Spring Arbor College in Michigan.
LTC George’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with eight oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal with two stars, the Afghanistan and Iraq Service Medals, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with the Silver Hourglass, Number 3, and “M” Devices, the Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with the Number 1 Device, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Ribbon with the Number 3 Device, the Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon with the Number 2 Device, and the NATO ISAF Medal with a Star Device. He has also been awarded the Combat Action Badge.
LTC George is married to the former Nancy Carlson and they have two daughters, Jessica serving as a Senior Airman in the U.S. Air Force, and Jillyan serving as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
