Mollie joined the Army in 2004. She volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division in '05, and served there for a year, returning home with her unit. She relocated to a base in California, and that is where she made the choice to leave the Army.

Enlisted in 1979, initially with 1/4 Calvary, Ft. Riley, KS; commissioned via OCS in 1981 in the Military Intelligence Cops. Various staff and command positions to include Commander, HHB, 7th DIVARTY (L), Ft. Ord, CA and B Company, 732nd MI Battalion (FS Kunia - Hawaii); served two additional overseas tours in the Republic of Korea as well as attending the Postgraduate Intelligence Program hosted by the Defense Intelligence Agency; departed active duty (AD) for the reserves and rebranched as a Civil Affairs officer with deployments to Haiti (94) and Bosnia (97-98) where I served as the J2 for a combined joint Civil Affairs task force in Sarajevo and then commanded a small joint Civil Affairs team in Prijedor, Serbia; commanded HHD, 416th CA Battalion (Norristown PA) and the General Support Detachment 425th CA Battalion (Santa Barbara CA); reassigned to a unit at Ft. Belvoir, VA where I was recalled to AD in March 03; deployed to Iraq in September 03 returned in October 04 and awarded the Combat Action Badge as well as the Purple Heart; retire June 30, 2009 with more than 30 years of total service and 22 years and 3 months of active duty credit. It was a great run and though difficult at times, the sacrifices pale in comparison to the opportunity to serve with some of America's Finest...HOOAH! I saluate all that served before, serve now, or will opt to serve in the future...
