About Me	Elder Bruce Whitley Poke Sr., a member of the Church Of God In Christ, is the son of Flennord I. Smith and Barbara J. Whitley. Elder Whitley Poke was born, raised and educated in the city of Kansas City. Graduating from Southeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1981, attended Western Baptist Bible College, Kansas City, MO., graduated from Kansas City Medical and Dental College with a Diploma as a Medical Administrative Assistant, Elder Whitley Poke’ professional career includes more than twenty (20) years of administrative, supervisory, and managerial experience. Having received his initial spiritual training in the Baptist Church, at a young age, Elder Whitley Poke accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Subsequent to acknowledging the call of God at age 16, he was licensed to preach by Pastor William Brewster February 3, 1980 and ordained an Elder on July 10, 1983 by Pastor James A. Howard. Moderator, Fellowship District Missionary Baptist, also licensed to preach by Bishop E. Harris Moore (deceased) and duly recognized in 2000 an Elder in the Church Of God In Christ by Bishop Emanuel Newton Sr., (deceased) Prelate, Missouri Western First Jurisdiction Church Of God In Christ.
