Mark Minervino

Became BM3 on the USS Concord, a store ship in the 6th fleet covering the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf during the Carter administration hostage crisis, and into the early Reagan years. I narrowly escaped death twice onboard ship, and once in port (Sicily)! In the absence of a quartermaster, I manned the helm through the entire Suez Canal (17 hours w/o a break). At the time, I couldn't wait to get out. Wish I knew then what I know now!
