Selected to attend US Military Academy at West Point after graduation from SPHS. Graduated from USAM as an Army Engineer officer in 1975 right after the Vietnam War ended. Served for 26 years in Combat Engineer units and as a Comptroller, including several years in South Korea. Final 6 years were in the Pentagon as a Program & Budget Officer; I led the team that built the Program for Army Intelligence budget for 3 years, and then did the same for Army Logistics for 3 years before retiring in 2001.

I joined the Army in 1988 and spent all 4 of my active military years abroad as an Infantry Soldier with the 3rd Armored Division. I'm a combat veteran and served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I achieved the rank of Sergeant/E-5 while on active duty and promoted to Staff Sergeant/E-6 in the reserves.

Since 2004 he has been playing guitar, bass, concert percussion and keyboards with the 133d Army National Guard Band and its smaller ensembles. In 2005 he served as squad/platoon leader for the Post-Katrina Security missions in New Orleans, LA.

Just finished my 8th and final deployment, retired on September 11th 2013 with 24 years. Was an Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), or the "Doc" on in smaller units without a medical officer.
