About Me Currently I work as a website designer, mostly virtually, and have lived in Titusville for past ~30 years with my best friend and soulmate Alan Tietjen. We are both water beings and our dream is to buy a sailboat escaping to be entranced by nature secluded. Al is a gifted photographer and writer. I am a poet, artist, photographer, genealogist, gardener and lover of nature secluded. I am also a LEM and as a follower of Christ I often blend the mediums breaking accepted moulds and sculpting something truly unique in praise and awe At least 3 generations in my family were raised on or near the banks of a sea. John Ebsworth Owsley took his family to live near the lakeside in Chicago. Heaton took his family to Glencoe and built a house on the lake beach after many years living less than a mile near lakeside in Chicago. Grandmother and Grandfather Hill brought up my Aunt Milancie and mother in that house and they were taught to sail at very young ages and I and my sister grew up on the banks of the Halifax in a sleepy little beach town. My Grandmother had craftsman bungalow with large airy porches overlooking the inter coastal shaded by large ancient oaks. I think my mother and I were born with sand between our toes and saltwater in our blood. I learned to walk on the beach & even before I was walking, she taught me to swim in the ocean. My grandparents first came to Florida on their honeymoon in 1912 on a train from Chicago to Key West. In the early 1950s, when I was very young my mother & I and often my grandmother and sometimes my sister would awaken to hurry down to the beach to wade in the pools left behind by the tides. There we would find starfish, hermit crabs, sand dollars, and the most wondrous shells. We always took a loaf of bread to feed the gulls and I always had my trusty bucket and spade to gather up coquinas from which my grandmother would make the most wonderful chowder. Later after the evening meal we would gather about the crackling fire to dig through old photographs and listen to my grandmother talk about her childhood, her siblings, her parents and grandpar...(read more)
