This US Army Lieutenant was a fighting Commander of his unit in Vietnam. He was not content to be away from his soldiers. He fought along side them in rain or shine. He was a close friend of my older brother Don Sommese at SWMHS. They graduated same time. I was a young teenager when I met Bill. I was very proud of Billy too as was my classmate Kathy Kimball the younger sister of Billy. The entire school has honored Lieutenant Kimball for many years now. It is a great honor to have known him and had him visit at my parents home. I was in US Army Officer Training Course at Seton Hall University on 6 May 1968 when I heard the news of Bill's passing.
