Robert Reynolds

Class of 1955

After being the staff artist for Cal Poly, I earned my Cal Poly Master's Degree. I became a Professor of Art. I was honored with the Cal Poly Distinguished Teaching Award and also was honored by the President's Art Award. For several years, I was the Department Head of the Department of Art and Design. I have had many one-man art exhibitions here in SLO and other cities. Over the years, I have had four one man art exhibitions at the SLO Museum of Art. I was invited to show my work at Florence, Italy, in their Bicentennial Art Exhibition. U.S. Congresswoman Lois Capps, supported my invitation. For some time, I have been listed in the "who's Who" books, including "Who's Who in American Art; Who's who in the West; Who's Who in America; Who's who in the World and Who's who in American Education.

My work has been reproduced in a number of different art magazines in the USA and also in France and England. Locally, over the years, I have done many art consignments for the City. I created the San Luis Obispo County Seal; I created the seal for the San Luis Obispo Centennial. There has been many other art events that I contributed to the County and City of San Luis Obispo. At SLO High School, I was thrilled to be able to paint the annual Christmas painting on the huge windows of the SLO High School. Of course, the building is gone now. If you need more documented achievements, please contact me. Thank you. Robert Reynolds
