My stateside duty was spent in Georgia; basic training at Fort Bennington, then AIT training at Fort Gordon. I was then assigned as an instructor in the Signal School for about a year. I then spent 1 year in South Vietnam. I was blown up by a mortar round on April 1, 1970. I returned to Fort Gordon in October of 1970 serving the remainder of my 3 years at this location.
