About	Birth: Jul. 10, 1947 Fort Worth Tarrant County Texas, USA Death: Nov. 11, 1968, Vietnam Fort Worth, Texas- Funeral services will be held here Saturday for Robert Bruce Barron, a 21-year-old Navy machine gunner killed when an explosion shattered a river boat in Vietnam. Services are scheduled for 11 a. m. Saturday in Richland Hills Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Drive, with burial in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. The sailor was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Del Barron. His father is a Fort Worth real estate man and a former county Republican Chairman. Dallas News 11-21-1968 Barron, a naval gunner's mate, was killed November 11 when his patrol boat either was shelled or struck a mine near the Demilitarized Zone in Vietnam. He had been in Vietnam since June. A native of Fort Worth, Barron was a graduate of Richland Hills High School. He had been in the Navy about two years. Survivors: a daughter Miss Barbara Ann Barron of Memphis, Tennessee; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Del Barron of Fort Worth; a brother, Douglas D. Barron of Westover AFB, Mass.; and grandparents, Mrs. O. D.
