About	John “Jack” Anthony White The music has quieted, but the melody remains. John “Jack”Anthony White, 74, of Shell Lake, WI, took his final bow on Thursday, August 6, 2026, passing at home surrounded by his loving family. A true luminary in the music world, Jack’s journey began in Ashland, WI, where he was born on July 22, 1952. By the time he graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1970, he was already hooked on the stage. His career was a remarkable ride, seeing him work with titans like Fleetwood Mac and McKendree Spring. Jack was a musical force in his own right, the Jack White Band, Bluerock, Chaser, the Nielsen White Band, and the Smokin Loons. Known as much for his technical wizardry as his performance, his peers rightfully honored him with an induction into the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame in 2010. On August 30, 1980, Jack married the love of his life, Judith Richard, in Rice Lake, beginning a beautiful life together. Beyond the spotlight, Jack was a man of deep character. A die-hard Packers fan and an avid fisherman, he gave back to the world through his music, playing countless benefit concerts to support others. Most importantly, he was a dedicated family man. He was the unwavering anchor for his grandkids, rarely missing a sporting event and pouring his energy into their lives. Jack leaves behind his devoted wife, Judy; his children, Ryan (Rachael) Wellvang, Megan (David) LaPorte, and Rhiannon Eck; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyler Wellvang, Brittney Wellvang, Dayton Eck, Jaxon Eck, and Henley Eck. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Marcia (Dan) Spies, Mickey (Mark) Mitchell, Mary (Dave) Mani, and Peg (John) Bonneville, and a wide circle of extended family. He now joins his parents and brother, Gerald, in the great beyond.
