The Radford High School Class of ’73 ~ 50th Reunion is set. We are celebrating in Hawaii, October 19th -23rd, 2023. “Where it all began.”
The 4-day FUN will begin with an Aloha Welcome, the first night. Over the next few days, we will have a trip down memory lane with a tour of the school. We hope to get: a football game in, but the fall schedule is not published yet; a banquet of some sort one evening; and, on Sunday the traditional picnic. Also, a tee time for the golfers and possibly Pickle Ball for the non-golfers. All accompanied by lots of laughs, old memories and renewed/new friendships.
We have learned from past reunions that staying at one location/hotel can create a stronger bond of friendship. Some on the committee are working on possible accommodations about which we will let you know as soon we can. Please be patient. Price, location, amenities, etc., are all being considered.
So, let’s get excited. Mark your calendar. Lock in your airfares.

ITINERARY
Thursday, June 9th-Arrival Day for a majority of our attendees! Check-in time is 4:00 PM. Get acquainted with what the Embassy Suites at Valley Forge has to offer. As has been a custom, classmates will congregate in the lobby to talk, to welcome each classmate as they enter the hotel, enjoy a libation or two from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the nightly Manager's Reception & then join together for supper in the hotel's restaurant.
Friday, June 10th-A day in the historical section of Philadelphia. Take in Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Independence National Historical Park Visitor's Center, the Constitution Center, the Betsy Ross House, etc. The best option for a bus tour is called “Hop On, Hop Off” with a 90-minute tour of Philadelphia & 28 stops to see the City of Brotherly Love & Sisterly Affection. Return to the hotel in the evening to share a meal in the restaurant on the premises!
Saturday, June 11th-A day of adventure-caravans will head south to see the incredible Longwood Gardens; or west to traverse into Amish Country to enjoy taking in a different lifestyle, eating great food, going back in time; or north to tour the Yuengling Brewery (the oldest family-owned brewery in America) & visit the picturesque Victorian town of Jim Thorpe. Return to our hotel where, in the evening, we will celebrate the Class of '73 with a private supper!!
Sunday, June 12th-A picnic in the early afternoon at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Food provided by Mission BBQ-a company owned & operated by Veterans! Hike in the park, go through the Visitors Center-enjoy this beautiful setting. Visit the very solemn Medal of Honor Grove-only minutes away from Valley Forge. For those want to play golf, tee times can be secured in the morning at nearby courses!! Supper at the hotel restaurant that evening!!!
Monday, June 13th-Getaway Day-as attendees will either depart to go home or travel to other great destinations in this historical part of the United States

Please remove Holiday Inn Express from our event page for the reunion as they wouldn't agree to hold rooms or give us a group rate.

Reservations may now be made for our school reunion. When people call, they may ask for rooms listed under Radford High School Reunion. The dates are Thursday, June 23, 2016 (3PM Check In) through Sunday, June 26, 2016 (Noon Check Out). Our group rate is $179 per night before taxes with breakfast included. New Braunfels is a very popular vacation spot in the summer time, hence the rate. I looked at Courtyard Marriott but they wanted to charge $189 per night before taxes without breakfast included.
We have 10 Single King Studio Suite Non-Smoking rooms and 9 Double Queen Beds Non-Smoking rooms reserved. I had asked for 20 rooms which is the most the general manager, Anil Patel, said we could hold but he sent 19 rooms in the confirmation email. Guessing he only had 9 Double Queen rooms available. Reservations must be made by May 1, 2016. After that date, prices will probably increase and/or no vacancies. We need to encourage classmates to make their reservations early.

This is on the side of Ala Moana that is under construction, so additional parking will be a little further away. You can come earlier and hang out, if you like.
