Class of 1990
Marine Corps, 4 Years
Honorably served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. Went to Parris Island for recruit training and that is the only place they train females for the Marine Corps. I then went to North Carolina for Motor Transport School. I was then placed in 1st Marine Division 7th Marines in 29 Palms, California. I was one of a few females placed in an infantry unit. I served in the infantry unit as a motor transport driver for 1 year then I went to CSSG (Combat Service Support Group) of where i served the remaining 3 years of my time.

Stationed in San Diego (after boot camp in Orlando, FL and training in Great Lakes, IL), Hawaii, Virginia, and South Carolina.
Served from Feb 1981 - Feb 2001.
Honorably transferred to Fleet Reserve and now fully retired from the military.
I became the first, and still only, Fleet Diesel Inspector in the United States Navy. I graduated from a school to earn this distinction where 67% of the men failed the course. I inspected diesel engines for the Navy from 1994 until my retirement in 2001.
I was stationed aboard USS Platte (AO-186) and was in the Persian Gulf aboard her for Operation Desert Storm in the 1991 Iraq War.

Served as Brigade Surgeon for 3rd Bd 3rd ID in Aschaffenburg Germany. Served as Orthopedic Surgeon at Ft. Benning, GA. Separated from military in 1996 with rank of Major in Medical Corps.
