Born in Greenville, he was the only child of the late John William, Sr. and Hazel Holliday Rogers. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Pelzer Presbyterian Church. He was also a master fisherman, outdoorsman, Clemson fan, and loved cooking for and entertaining his friends.

Survivors include cousins, Beth Phibbs and Ray Holliday. They wish to extend their deepest thanks to special friends Debbie Huff, Keith Carter, and John Hardwick, who assisted Bill during his short illness,
