| About Me | After college, I spent four years working in a factory and playing guitar in various bands. During that period, I got married and we had our first child, a son. I attended law school, graduating in 1979. After law school, I worked a year for a federal judge in Nashville and then moved to Washington, D.C. to work for a law firm and did mostly corporate bankruptcy and transactions work. Our second child was born in 1982. I stayed with the firm through the end of 2006, when I took early retirement. In 2007 and 2008, I served as a sort of bankruptcy trustee for Tower Records. In 2008 and 2009, I worked for the U.S. Treasury Department on TARP (the bailout program), first as Chief Counsel and then as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. I left Treasury in November 2009, then served as a director of a bank for 2 1/2 years, and now am happily retired.
