About	I sincerely regret to inform you that a much loved alumni Juanita Askew Washington, Northside High School Class of 1980, has transitioned from Earth and has watched a sunrise in Heaven. Juanita was shot and killed Wednesday, December 29, 2021 as she exited a Memphis Walgreens. The shooting happened just before 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Walgreens at 3177 S. Perkins in Parkway Village. The MPD has stated that the suspect was a black male that fled the scene in a white van. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 901-528-CASH. At this time, I have no further information on the arrangements or the wishes of the family. This will be updated as soon as this information is made known to me. Any information that anyone can provide, to be used on her alumni “In Memory Of” tribute page, will also be greatly appreciated.
