Class of 1993

On July 26, 2009 David "Dave" Linn became the first individual with Cerebral Palsy to win the national championship in the physically challenged division of triathlons (1 mi. swim/24 mi. bicycle/6 mi. run). Dave has broken the barriers of the physically challenged for many years! He was chosen as one of the most influence individuals of western North Carolina by UNC in 2002. In 2001, he developed the foundation entitled "The Dave Linn Foundation" a foundation designed to help promote an active lifestyle to the physically challenged of western North Carolina. Today, he is the fitness director of a four star resort in Highlands, North Carolina called "Old Edwards Inn & Spa." In his spare time, he enjoys being with his lovely with Vanessa and helping individuals develop a healthy lifestyle through various fitness programs he offers to the communities of western North Carolina. Dave's simple goal in life is to teach others that they are not handicapped but HANDICAPABLE! David "Dave" Linn was one of the first individuals in the state of Florida to play high school football with any form of a disability. During his high school football career he played wide receiver and is always remembered for his smile and his spirit of "Never giving up!" He also, played tennis while attending NMHS.
