I saw John years ago on a Jerry Lewis Telethon. He owned a bar in Cedar Rapids and had made a donation to the local MDA.
He was a good friend at North High.

John called me the summer before he passed. I hadn’t heard from him fo at least 30 years. He had just been diagnosed with cancer and wanted to talk. He had been a Viet Nam vet and never married that I know of. He is buried at the military cemetary in Van Meter.
