I served to years mostly at the Infantry School in Ft. Benning Ga. from Jul 68 - Jul 70. I assisted the cadre instructing officer candidates,non-comissioned officer candidates and the Ranger candidates both at Ft. Benning and Eglin Air Force base in Florida.

Left for the Navy December 7th, 2003 for Great Lakes Boot Camp. After that went to "A" school in Pensacola, Florida until October of 2004. Was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia for 3 years and added a year of sea-time while deployed on the USS Cole (DDG 67) USS Stephen W. Groves (FFG 29) and on the USCGC Ventorous. After that went back to Pensacola, Florida for more school and is now stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and is expected to deploy on the USS Russell (DDG 59) in January of 2010. Current end of service date is December of 2011.

Served for 28 years as an active duty Navy Surface Warfare Officer; retired as a Captain.
Assigned to seven ships, including as Commanding Officer of the anti-submarine warfare frigate USS O'CALLAHAN (FF-1051), the guided missile frigate USS GARY (FFG-51), and the Aegis guided missile cruiser USS BUNKER HILL (CG-52), which was homeported in Japan.
Deployed and operated in the Atlantic Ocean/Arctic Circle, the Mediterranean Sea, three deployments to the Persian Gulf, and the Western Pacific Ocean/Korea-China.
Serve three tours in the Pentagon, including on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations and the staff of the Secretary of Defense.
Served another 16 years as a civilian Defense analysis consultant to the Navy Department.

1970-1978 as a Metrologist (Precision Measurement and Calibration of Electronic and Physical Test Equipment). Separated in the UK where I continued to work until my retirement in 2004. I now still work in the UK as a USAF contractor at the same lab.

1969-1970: Completed tech school for Hound Dog missiles at Chanute AFB in Rantoul, Illinois.
1770-1973: As a Sergeant, worked Hound Dog missile maintenance at Grand Forks AFB in Grand Forks, North Dakota, until being discharged.

PFC Letto was a medic in the Army. After medic school was sent to the 25th Infantry Division as a medic in Vietnam. His VN tour started Feb 20, 1968. Roger was killed in action in Hua Nghia VN March 14, 1968, when friend artillery fire landed on his company. May God hold Roger in his arms forever.
