Alan Potter
Class of 1965
Army, 20+ Years
Served 26 years, 25 with the United States Army Field Band, Washington DC. as trombonist in the Concert Band. This is the Army's official touring band and as such we were on the road roughly 4 months each year and performing over 300 concerts in all 50 states and countries around the world. Highlights were concert tours of Europe during WW II remembrances, India, Japan and Korea. Retired MSG in August of 2000

Went into the AirForce in 78 =82. Met my husband of over 28 yrs at Little Rock A.F.B. I had a lot of fun while single and in.Learned that you could date, break up and still be good friends.Nothing like High School! I still communicate w/ them. Some are wealthy and some are famous. Not sure what happened to me. Oh yea, I have my 3 great kids w/5 count them 5 grand kids. I have had a lot of experiences that I would never take back. Learn from your life, then wake up to do it again.

Has served in the army for 17+ years as an Apache Helicopter Mechanic. Currently stationed in Germany but is deployed to Iraq on his 4th tour.

Jeffery Mikkelsen
Class of 1991
Air Force, 18 Years
Now, Nov.5, 2011, Jeff is currently on his 6th deployment in 9 years. He is currently in Afghanistan. Jeff's home base is at Yakota Air Force Base in Fussa, Japan. He will remain at that base until his retirement in 2015. He is currently a Tec. Sgt. He is married to Fretchie and has 2 young sons, Ryu age 3 and Kijoo age 4 months. Hopefully, Jeff will be back in Japan, with his family by mid January, 2012. What he is actually doing in Afghanistan is classified and top secret.

Spent 17 years in aircraft maintenence working the KC-135 and B-1B Bomber. Retired in 2004 as a first sergeant. Served a total of 27 1/2 years. Retired to Rapid City, South Dakota. Currently runs a homeless veterans program housing over 35 veterans

Served 15 months in Germany with 8th Inf Div - initially as platoon ldr in Airborne Brigade, then as staff officer at Div HQ. Promoted to 1LT. Served one-year tour in Vietnam as advisor to ARVN Rangers. Promoted to CPT. Spent one year at Fort Benning GA for infantry officer training. Served second one-year tour in Vietnam - initially as company cmdr in 82nd Airborne Div, then as staff officer at Div HQ of 1st Cavalry Div (Airmobile). Awards include Bronze Star Medal w/3 OLC, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachute Badge, Pathfinder Badge and ARVN Ranger Badge.
