About Kathleen Ann Bennett, 42, of Moline, died on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and blessed by the multitude of prayers offered in her name.

Memorial services for Kathleen McCarthy Bennett, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Mary Fluhrer Nighswander Theatre in the Annie Wittenmeyer Complex in Davenport. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to Community Action of Eastern Iowa, Attn: Peg DeLoe; and/or to Just Kids Early Care Education Center in Milan, Attn: Mary Girot.

Kathy was born on Dec. 22, 1963, in Moline, to Jack and Joan DeBoer McCarthy. She graduated from Moline High School in 1982 and obtained an associate's degree in early childhood development from Black Hawk College.

She was employed by Isabel Bloom, Just Kids Early Child Care Education Center, and at Community Action of Eastern Iowa.

Besides her love of teaching and being with children, Kathy enjoyed being outdoors, especially walking along the Ben Butterworth Parkway. She was a member of the Cross Point Church in Davenport.

Survivors (and spouses) are her husband, David Bennett; her mother, Joan McCarthy, Moline; her brothers, Michael (Debra) McCarthy, Tulsa, Okla., Patrick McCarthy, Arnold, Calif., Dennis (Sharon) McCarthy, Port Townsend, Wash., and Kevin (Isabel) McCarthy, Moline; her sisters, Mary (Thomas) Siska, Oak Lawn, Ill., and Colleen (Siva) Sivasankaran, Fairfield, Calif.; her in-laws, Meredith and Irma Bennett; David's sister, Michelle (Jamie) Bailey; and 19 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack McCarthy.
