About COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- James Jay Johnson, of Coal Valley, Ill., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Trinity Medical Center, Moline. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, Ill. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial will be held in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Zion Church. James was born June 21, 1964, in Moline, to Lenard R. and Phyllis Marie (Castens) Johnson. James attended Blackhawk College and Augustana College and graduated from Illinois State. He was a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at Southpark Psychology, Moline. James was an avid reader, a guitar player, he enjoyed computers and collecting replica skulls and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors and (Spouses) include: daughters, Jordan Melody Johnson, of Rock Island; sons, Zachary James Johnson, of Rock Island; mother, Phyllis Johnson, of Silvis; brother, Jeffrey Jay (Cheryl Lynn) Johnson, of Johnston City, Ill.; niece and nephew, Sarah Beth and Jermey J. Johnson, of Marion, Ill.; great nephew, Jaycob Jeffrey-Wade Johnson, of Marion; great niece, Jayci Lynn-Marie Johnson, of Marion; fiance’, Darci DeWinter, of Coal Valley, and Zachary, Kyle and Kaitlin, of Coal Valley. Several uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant nephew.
