About	MOLINE-James Hammond, 56, of Moline passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 10am, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 4-6pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 246, Moline. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Jim was born November 5, 1964 in Joliet, IL, the son of James Albert and Barbara (Holmes) Hammond. He married Tracy Kave on August 8, 1987 in Moline. Jim was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retiring as a Staff Sergeant after 20 years. He later worked at Mills Chevrolet, Moline and Elliott Aviation, Moline. Jim was active at Shooting Sports, Moline. He enjoyed boating, building model cars and was known for his quick wit. Survivors include his wife, Tracy; sons, Tony (Rachel) Hammond, Moline and Alex Hammond, Rock Island; parents, Jim and Barb Hammond, Normal, IL; sisters, Kathe (David) Selby, Dundas, IL, Ann Hammond, Normal, IL and Karen Hammond, Eldersburg, MD; many nieces and nephews and his companion, Piper.
