Well, I’ve heard that the 10th was typically about showing off what you’ve done since high school including your spouses and new babies, while your 20th was supposed to be about finally moving on from high school hang ups and genuinely reconnecting with those who knew you when.
As for the 30th, I hear in many cases it’s like the “Fountain of Youth” where your mind (but sadly not your body) is transported back to 1989-1990 to relive some glory days, while for some, it’s a chance to pick up where old romances left off.
So this time, we’ll kick things off with our 30th Reunion on Friday, July 24th at 7pm at the 1902 built The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel and Spa (8 South Nevada Ave., Colo. Spgs, 80903) in downtown Colorado Springs. The restored historic landmark will host us for a Taste of Bourbon Street Buffet in their Platinum Ballroom and its adjacent heated outdoor New Orleans-style "back alley" patio with firepits. The cost is $70 per person for purchase HERE at www.mhs1990.eventbrite.com (includes buffet dinner and dessert, TWO drink tickets, full cash bar also available). Note there is an additional $5 service charge from Eventbrite. Reserve your ticket for the Reunion by 7/1/20 (prices may go up after that date). Tickets will not be for sale at the door.
The 11th annual Mitchell Alumni Golf Classic will take place this year on Saturday, July 25 at Antler Creek Golf Club in Falcon at $110 per person (lunch and raffle prizes included). Check-in for this all-class event is at 7am. Play starts at 8am. People can either form their own teams or we can put individuals on a team with other MHS Alumni. We’ll cap off this year’s event on Saturday night with an All-Class Mixer starting at 7pm at The View House (tentative) at 7114 Campus Dr. (I-25 & Woodmen) that will be free of charge with food and drink available for purchase. Usually 200-250 Mitchell alumni from various classes attend this annual event. No advance RSVP necessary.
