Keith Robert Guynes

Class of 1971

To all of my fellow classmates of 71. HOWDY PARTNERS. How many of you remember the late actor John Wayne. Well both in the early 70's and 80's I was given the Honor by our country to be an old West SOLDIER. I was stationed at two old west Cavalry posts. Fort Bliss in Texas and Fort Huachuca in Arizona. I was in communication in Arizona and Supply in Texas. I must admit I never had to ride a horse. But I would drive military Vehicles. And luckily I never had to fight any Natives. And I'm glad of that. I would leave the Army never having been in Combat like my other fellow Soldiers would. I guess this was a good thing in the end. Still I'm very proud of my fellow sister's and brothers who would and did see combat. And I do my best to this day to tell our Nation of what they did and saw. And what they went through. So that their families would know just what they did, done, and how it affected them. So that they their family's would come to truly understand what it was like for their families that saw combat. I feel this Nation of ours needs to know this. So that if they ever see a headstone in a CEMETERY and notice that person was in the military they the visitor would have some what of an idea just what that SOLDIER, Sailor, Airmen, Marine , or Costie went through. This is my new mission in life. And I try to do it with humbleness, Honor, respect, dignity, and truth. I owe it to them ALL. So that our Nation will never forget. And so my fellow Classmates I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And pray that 2023 will be a lot nicer to us all. I hope!
