I served on active duty from January 1970 through January 1976. I than served for two years in the Indiana Army National Guard, and finally two years in the Air National Guard.

On active duty I was a telecommunications supervisor. I had assignments in Texas, and Minnesota, and a four year tour of duty in the United Kingdom. I was honorably discharged with the grade of Staff Sergeant.

I served as a wheel vehicle mechanic for 4.5 yrs. Spent my 1st 3yrs. At Schofield Barracks Hawaii, then went to Fort Campbell Kentucky for the rest of my time. I did suffer a injury while serving which I receive VA disability. Loved serving my country and to this day I would still be willing to serve again.

Went in as a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic 63W. Spent 1st 3yrs @ Schofield Barracks Hawaii working in a Engineer Battalion. So I worked on engineering equipment ( dozens, scrappers, forklifts, 20 ton cranes, and wheeled vehicles).
The last of my time I was at Fort Campbell Kentucky.

Our Marion High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done!
